Hey, thanks drustrk3 (I spell that right?! ;-) I take control of all teams because I love running CPU vs CPU games and just watching (especially with THIS game!) and in particular the key match-ups that are happening that week. I don’t have cable or TV reception, so I run games on Sunday morning – old habit. Actually, I run them pretty much every day, come to think of it.
And I spend a lot of time creating custom playbooks for the CPU to use – all of which you can’t do without taking control of all the teams. As far as the Coach Game Plan sliders and controlling how the CPU teams utilize their personnel and structure their on-field play: I honestly don’t understand why more people aren’t interested in this – I think – really important, even critical aspect of franchise football. It’s work, but I figure if a real season lasts several months, then why not mine?
My project right now is finding a balance of ratings edits and sliders that will allow me to both play and watch games, using the same settings and getting similar results. I was able to accomplish that in 2k4, but this year it’s a beast, and the jury is still out on whether or not it’s even possible.
