lol! Stop expecting other guys' routines to work for your team, man. Prep definitely works (one of the few things in 2k5's franchise mode that does)...it's just that it hasn't been working for you.

theBandit gave you some great advice...

The reason your team is declining is because you aren't doing enough full team drills. You need at least 3 days of significant full team practices. I'll let you figure out the rest on your own.
That along with buc's "suggested" routine should help you out.

Exclamation Re: NFL2k5: Useless Game Prep

weekly prep is awesome...

It just takes sitting down and planning at first. Then throughout the season I just tweak/edit my planner to gear up for either a run strong, pass strong, or even offense.

I don't know yet. I am still working. I probably won't be able to try them until this weekend.

Re: NFL2k5: Useless Game Prep

DLV - I've had success with this method as well. You might want to try this out, as I've had my guys go up...

Monday - All film. I spend more hours in the most deficient areas, depending on scouting. The CBs (since mine are bad) and Oline get the most focus.

Tuesday - Full Scrimmage, 3 a day. Any hours left over are for rehab and/or position drills.

Wednesday - Weight training, everyone. More hours to my deficient areas, obviously. 7-on-7 drills if necessary.

Thursday - Drills. OLine gets the sled, DLine works on techniques, CBs work on spped, QBs work on arm strength and accuracy, HBs and TEs get the Gauntlet, OLBs get coverage while ILBs get blitzing. But this caters to the way that I play. Of course, YMMV.

Friday - Light scrimmages, half day off.

I've seen improvement in my OL, QB, HB, CB and TE. I'm still working out the kinks in the DL, but here's something that may help. I will say this - against the Vikings, I did a lot of heavy film study and weight training with my CBs. Their awareness went up, and it translated itself to 3 picks against the Vikings in the first half by my corners. So it CAN work.

Re: NFL2k5: Useless Game Prep

in the weekly prep thread their is a list of what to do with each player on what day. I've used that and i just keep it on that for ever, and every week most of my players go up. some stay the same, but none ever go done.

Credit goes to Yodawgyo from GameFAQS.com

"All my players progress except for about 2-3 bench players. Also, I used up all my hours and I didn't give any time off (for the 6 games I played I didn't get any bad effects for giving no time off). And I got a cut scene in the game where my players are like "yea, it's because of the workout" (something like that and after I got a td). Note: this is probably different for other teams, tweak it so it fits your team.

Monday:
Meeting- Happy
Conference- Happy
Film/ 2/ ALL WRS/ Coverage
Coaching Coverages
Film/ 2/ All/ DTS/ Pass blocking schemes
Film/ 3/ All/ Des/ route combinations
Weights/2 /all dts/ hamstring and quads
weights/ 1/ [censored] ss/ arms
"/"/cbs/hams and quads
(note it would be too long to put everything for monday, I had more films and weights so add to make sure everyone is having part in the workout)

Tues:
Full Drill/ 1/ 2nd team /no pads
weights/ 1/ all dts/ arms
pos drill/ 1/ all olbs/ beat the block
7 on 7/ 2/ all/ partial pads
full drill/ 2/ 1st team/ no pads
film /2/ all wrs/ coverages
pos drill/ 1/ all cs/ run blocking
pos drill/ 1/ all gs/ pass protection
pos drill/ 1/ all dts/ pursuit drills

Weds:
Pos drill/ 2/ all wrs/ wide receiver release
7 on 7/ 1/ all/ partial pads
full drill/ 2/ 2nd team/ partial pads
full drill/ 2/ 1st team/ partial pads
pos drill/ 3/ all ts/ the big sled
pos drill/ 1/ all des/ recognition

thurs:
7 on 7/ 1 al/l full pads
pos drill/ 1 all dts/ special move focus
film/ 3 all wrs/ man/zone tendencies
full drill/ 1/ 3rd team/ no pads
weights/ 1/ all/ cbs/ calves and ankles
pos drill/ 1/ all/ cs/ enemies at the gate
pos drill/ 2/ all/ gs/ enemies at the gate
full drill/ 1/ 1st team/ partial pads
pos drill/ 1/ all cbs/ pattern recognition
film/ 1/ all sss/ run/pass distribution
pos drill/ 1/ all des/ get off the ball
weights/ 1/ all dts/ arms

Fri:
film/ 3/ all ilbs/ run blocking schemes
pos drill/ 1/ all wrs/ pattern depths
pos drill/ 3/ all ts/ pass protection
7 on 7/ 3/ all/ no pads
pos drill 3 /all tes/ the gauntlet
pos drill 2 /all fbs
pos drill/ 3/ all fs/ ball reaction"

Alot of people at the GameFAQS boards say this works, i havent tried it yet.

here it is. It works well, except for on mondays its not completely full so you can add your own events. I got this from the weekly prep thread

Re: NFL2k5: Useless Game Prep

I wanna figure out myself a good workout regmine. I dont see why ppl are even using other ppls preperations. Its no fun if you've got a cheat sheet. I'll more than likely keep experimenting until I figure out something that boost my players ratings.
