I prefer Madden before the snap, too. Except there is one aspect of ESPN's that is superior, and that's on the offensive end -- a little screen bringing up the audible plays. I hate slowing down a game with going to another screen to change up audibles when playing a friend.

I agree, its not as effecient, but I think it makes more of a difference. I can tell more when I send an extra guy to blitz, I don't know why. I have no idea which is more realistic, but I definetly notice a QB spy or a blitz more, and a double team seems more effective.

I like maddens better. Its deeper and has more options. And the biggie, you actually can tell if you called a qb spy or not.

I don't think realism is the issue with either of them. They are both realistic and provide realistic on the fly adjustments. Depth, effectiveness, and ease of pulling them off is the issue. I think Madden wins two of those categories.

LBzrule, what's going on. I have been waiting to hear your opinion on your overall impressions of both games, I know you know your stuff. I also know you are unbiased, so what do you think?

I'll have to get to a comparative review later on. I'm in the midst of exams right now. I've only had madden for 3 days, whereas I've been playing ESPN since the 19th of July.
