I think it would be pretty ridiculous to move it to ESPN. Up until this tv season, MNF was the only thing on ABC to even be high in the ratings. And, like what was said already, there are still some people that don't have cable or satellite tv.

I do think madden coming to espn would tighten the player ratings.. Every year Espn out does the madden engine yet the basic player ratings are not balanced.. Madden rates player with football speed accordingly..

he doesnt do anything on the gameplay side of the game..
But he does look at players.. especially the ones he watches..
guys like Jason Dunn.. players who dont make the stats but are good at what they do..
