ESPN the station not the game has bought Tiburoun or The rights to madden, or something like that. Or maybe fox bought the rights to Maddens likenss, either way its bassically a rumor that if true will cause a major shake up with the liscencing of all of the major sports titles, Im not really sure and i didnt get it from a reliable source but i wanna see if anyone has heard anything. I have had wet dreams of playing a game with ESPNs options, graphics, and presentation, with Maddens franchise, and controll.

Anyone heard anything of the sort?

I've heard something as in terms of Madden's contract with ABC being up and he's moving over to ESPN or something like that. Pure speculation but i did hear something in regards to that.

Somebody is buying someone or something but what, i don't know?!?!?!?!?!?

Disney/ABC is considering moving Monday Night Football to ESPN. The impact wouldn't be extensive as you imply but it would impact sports video games. This isn't a rumor.

ABC is losing money somehow with Monday Night Football but it still gets big ratings. This would be a stupid move for ABC to get rid of MNF. If Disney didn't own ABC we might have had a chance of MNF going to CBS, FOX or maybe even NBC.

I don't want ESPN NFL to have anything to do with Madden.

Whatever happens, you need to have two game companies competing against each other, pushing each other to make the best product. The idea of a "super game'' combining the best aspects of Madden and ESPN sounds great, but is probably a fantasy. If there were only one game, the company making it could slack off a bit and not worry about any competition.

This wouldn't affect anything IMO. I mean, they have EA Sports junk all over ESPN, so if Madden was on ESPN and in Madden the game, then who cares...
