This new unknown value can be 0 or 1. (ie. True or False).

I was thinking maybe has something to do with double-teaming but that is just a guess. I am just trying to think of things that only make sense in terms of lineman.

For example I made everyone on the Falcons UNK 0, Eagles UNK 1, Chargers UNK 2, and Dolphins UNK 3. Then I simulated a franchise for one year. After a year the players on the Falcons went up a lot more than usual and no one went down. Vick jumped to 92(using most recent online rosters with the unk edits only), Hall the FS went up to 97, Dunn went to 87, and Kearney went to 97. The other teams weren't as conclusive but the Dolphins players did go down quite a bit compared to what they usually do when I play with them. Their tackle: Wade Smith who starts out a 72 and usually goes up to a 74 next season dropped to a 79. Zach Thomas who usually drops to a 92 dropped to an 83 from a 95. The Eagles players didn't go up or down for the most part. The Chargers were a bit wierd though. Tomlinson went up to a 98, Brees went down to an 85 from an 86, Gates went up to a 93, while Mccardell went down to a 73. That is the result that wierded me out.

Anyways here is the roster I used. Test some stuff out as well if you like.
What variable is the UNK variable? Is it an attribute? Where do you find it? I looked at the default rosters on my game and I don't see that attribute anywhere.

These unknowns are only exposed through the PC Editor.

Re: It appears I was partially right about the UNK Variables

The only idea that pops in my head at the moment is that all these guys are rather on the large side when looking at DTs and Olineman. The run stoppers and mountain movers of the league really.

I'm guessing it could possibly have something to do with size and using that in game. A huge pet peve of mine while editing has been trying to figure out how in the hell guys like Ted Washington, Sam Adams, Pat Williams, Sapp, etc. are nearly unstoppable to pass block without seriously gimping their ratings. I know VC put in a rather unique (and cool I must say) feature about DTs and how much their "size" comes into play. My only problem with that is it almost overuns the ratings itself sometimes. Or so it appears anyway.

I'd like to try and test some of these guys out with their "1" & "0" attributes and see if it affects anything from that stand point.

I am now 90% sure that's what it is. It's a weight specific attribute. The heavier guys can shed blocks/block easier. You should add it to the editor under a tag like Extra Large DL/OL
True
False

Also what other unk are there?

Nice thoughts... When I get home, I could send you the default roster will all the guys set back to 0 except 1 or 2 for comparison as you seem familiar with what to be looking for...

I think pass rush ratings for Dt should be low.. they do not get as many sacks as the edge guys.. exception was kevin williams.. a Elite Dt can make up for a low pass rush rating with run coverage.. thats just how I feel about it.. part of the adjustments of my personal rosters ratings

That would be really cool. I also had a good idea for the editor. Have a way to set an injury on players. That way really good players like Anthony Simmons who are out for the season can sit out the season realistically.
