Since Rumph is one of the many players who doesnt allow his face or skin tone to be edited, I loaded the opening roster using Finn's editor. I know this is just for Xbox but forget that. You're using his editor just to see what face type the player has. Rumph has "type 3" listed as his face
i know this is an outdated thread, but for anyone doing any kind of PS2 editing (historic or otherwise), where you want to change the POS of a player, the quoted method above is incorrect... you are better off just eye balling the face/skin & trying to get them close.

players "who can't have their face or skin tone edited" are just guys who have a real face skin applied to the player model, as opposed to one of the generic CAP faces (most lineman & TEs have these generic faces... except some of the higher rated guys). Players with real skinned faces include Brett Favre, Willis McGahee, Pennington, Brees, etc etc... mostly the higher rated & skill pos players. however, when you open these players in Finn's editor, the numbers shown to be associated w/ the face & skin tone do not necessarily translate over to the number shown by the in-game editor.

in fact, if you click the drop down menu associated w/ either the face or skin for any player in Finn's editor, you will see that the list of numbers (1-8 i think or some smallish range like that) is just repeated over and over... just like w/ the extra unknown/"UNK" pictures & PBP entries in Finn's, each line is a different unique entry... there are many diff faces in the list despite the range of numbers repeating.

So in this situation, the "3" shown to be Mike Rumph's face in Finn's editor will likely not match the #3 face within the PS2 in-game editor. and you can only access the generic faces from the in-game editor... ie there's no way to apply the "brett favre head" onto another player in-game. the only way to give someone else one of these real-faces is on XBOX, via the paste feature in Finn's editor. just think about it logically: even if it says 3, 4, 5, etc whatever for the face of Brady/Favre/McGahee or whoever... simply entering that # from the in-game editor for a different player will not apply the real face.
