Roster with actually cap/contracts...

This is based on version 10 of the community rosters... The aim is to use the websites that will be provided, although some still need to be found in order to get every team done.

Basically the math is as follows:

(years remaining on contract) X (cap hit for the 2006 season) = (number of dollars per year).

*Note: based on the player's roster/signing bonus, we can plug that into Finn's editor as well, meaning that if 999,999 and below its 10%, 1M to 1.99 M its 20%, 2M to 2.99M its 30%, etc.

Of course, these rosters will never be 100% perfect, BUT will be as perfect as the game allows us to. Basically, the worst that can happen is a player makes 500,000 difference per year, but in the end, it will allow us to have actually contracts instead of make-believe salaries or ppl getting paid based on ratings (of course, just cuz a player is ranked in the 90s, doesnt mean that he gets paid millions, just look at the eagles and patriots--also, some players have a great season in their contract year and get overpaid, meaning that they'll makes millions yet be rated in the 70s).

Anyways, this takes alot of time to do per team so if everyone could contribute by calling a team or two to do, then we could get this up and running very quickly and people can set up their pre-season practice franchise's)

Here are the teams for who's info we already have, we need over 15more team websites with this info.

*Note: We are not plugging the info into the editor yet because of the July 1 cuts still ahead--instead, we're putting this in Word and just having the info there for all future reference.

ie: Davis, Domanick 4/15.23M 30% (this shows that he has 4 years left on his contract (expires after the 2009 season), and his total contract is worth about 15.23M total, with a 30% bonus.

Are you evenly distributing contracts over their entire course? If so, that will definitely screw up a lot of teams caps. The backloaded contract with a false number because the last couple of years will never be paid is very common, and even if its hard to find numbers on this I think its very important that we work towards true cap numbers.

if ur game, i am....

should we wait til head coach comes out so we can steal the contracts numbers from there? i dono, what does everyone think is the best way of doing this?

i mean, 2k5 will never be 2k7 unless we get the cap as close to possible as possible

It would probably be easiest to steal them from Head Coach in like, what, 5 days instead of doing it ourselves. At the same time, I wouldn't trust EA to get the contract numbers right. We should definately take the numbers and do a quick double check. If they're in the right range, then use 'em. Otherwise, we have to do a little work...

the problem is that there are no websites out there with the contract each player makes... as u can see above, there are websites, altho hard to find, that mention how much a player makes per yr, but not the total contract... its brutal like that.. we have no other choice but to use head coach... is there no way to access the database now?

also, im VERY surprised not alot of ppl are rooting for this... besides having the rite rosters, its the next most important aspect of a franchise mode

Re: Roster with actually cap/contracts...

I agree that its very crucial to accurate franchise play...that's why I emailed Finn a couple of weeks ago requesting this very feature. And while I know that we can't find the contract situation of every player online, we should be able to find contract numbers for those who recently signed deals. When we check those against what's listed in HC, we can see whether or not they got the signing bonus right and the contract from year to year (ESPN might not say the money given in each year, but they'll tell you a contract is backloaded, the signing bonus, and how much the total contract is). From there we can make an educated guess as the the accuracy of the HC contracts.

Re: Roster with actually cap/contracts...

NFL Head Coach will likely have Madden 2006 cap numbers. It is suppose to start after the Steelers Superbowl.

Which probably won't be much help...

I downloaded this PC Madden Utility...
http://football-freaks.com/forums/in...p?download=930

and this Franchase file because apparently that is where Salary breakdowns are located...
http://football-freaks.com/forums/in...p?download=888

I had to register to get the files BTW.

I compared at least this franchise files salary numbers to the Redskins and while the guy edited the right total cap numbers in for the signed FA, the rest of the players are way off. I think EA just makes up ****.
