wow-- good & fast response so far.

i'll definitely post the numbers in several other formats when the project is done (just as plain txt in a post even) so it's more user friendly for everyone

Re: Seeking help recording pre-draft measurements

Puja, dude, I'm starting a new job that has me working nights, so I'll be up all night over the weekend getting used to the schedule and all...

So if all you need is that info from the website plugged into an excel
file, go ahead and break me off a section of about 100 (if you've already got a list) and I'll start working on it tonight...

I think you can count me out puja. I can't seem to download just the spreadsheet program from Open Office, but just the entire suite and I really don't want to mess up Word and my other Microsoft stuff. Sorry.

Re: Seeking help recording pre-draft measurements

just wanted to say thanks & big ups to vswitzer flyboy & 500bloc, who all took their free time to help me complete a "pre-draft measurements" spreadsheet for almost every new player in the game since 2004

i couldn't have even come close to finishing this in one weekend w/o them. this info will make the roster i just posted much better & furthermore this will happen much much sooner thanks to them (ergo, the franchise version will also be out much sooner).

Re: Seeking help recording pre-draft measurements

It's that time again.... looking for help recording the pre-draft measurements for the incoming 2008 draft class. the first 25% or so is completed

same system as per usual:
Quote:
Here's an example of what I'd be looking for:

Using NFLdraftscout.com as the source, I want to pull the best number from either the combine or pro day... I want the "best #" rather than an average b/c from what I can tell, 2K did this for its 2004 rookies (like Triandos Luke).

From the site, search by last name for the player... if the search results are huge like for a last name of "Smith" or "Johnson" then just use CTRL-F & type the first name to find your guy). You could also search by first name if the guy has an uncommon name ie JaMarcus or Selvin

So, using Vikings FB Naufahu Tahi as an example:
http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings...php?pyid=14330
--enter a 40-time of 4.81 (from his pro day)
--shuttle would be 4.61 (pro day)
--3-cone would be 7.27 (pro day)
--bench reps 35 (combine)
--vertical 33.5 (pro day)

Just ignore the avg, hi, and low 40-times right next to the player's picture unless he did not participate in either a pro day or the combine... in which case plug in the first time (an average) because having something is better than nothing. If any one of the 4 measures is missing (many players skip the bench press for instance) then just leave that cell blank.
