Fantasy Franchise Mode?

I've played a lot of 2k5, one of the features that always scares me away is Fantasy Draft setting for Franchise mode. I was wondering if anyone had any tips to success in being able to create a viable roster out of the mode? I've attempted it a few times, but it always seems to fail for me hahaha.

I think it's pretty fun, i always loved doing fantasy drafts on madden when I played it. Did one earlier and ended up with a 92 OFF, 77 DEF, 87 OVR with like the 7th pick. But on defense I had a couple guys that were out of position for my 4-3 defense, namely T suggs so I had to sub them. But of course that is with the old rosters. So I'm not sure if you could make a decent team with other rosters.
