Really like this site's set up for rosters

Thanks, this is great. Since I don't have an Xport I may tackle redoing the rosters myself. This will help me get started. Now, where might one find ratings that can be applied to 2K5?

As far as ratings, why don't you DL a roster set you trust and use it as a guideline. You will probably run into roster limits doing it yourself though.

I was wondering about the roster limits. I have read where there were apparently limits. So does that mean that I cannot completely redo all rosters to the current accurate ones? Does releasing players that are no longer in the league free up space? Anyone know just how short the roster would be if I were to completely redo it?

updating in-game by hand, you would likely not be able to change the names for more than between 50 & 120 players depending on how many characters you overwrite

so, with the assumption that roughly 50% of the players from 2K5 are no longer in the league (900 & change players are still active), it is likely that you would need to add a rough average of 26 players per team (with high variance). so, maybe you could completely update 4 teams out of the 32... one or two more if you specifically do teams w/ the most players left from 2K5

I just spent about an hour and a half taking a roster and editing as many players names as I could using 10 characters per name (typed in a bunch of a's really fast)and came up with 165 before the dreaded 'roster full of edited names' message.You can also add 47 created players plus 2 exported teams of created players to start franchise.This put me at 308 total.

This sounds pretty decent but is only around 9 per team.Some teams are very outdated from the original roster.Depends what you want out of it but a $40-$50 investment for a game that you may really want to play for a long time is certainly worth it.Meaning if the license is renewed for EA,2K5 may be our best option for quite awhile.
