Mr Jordan's Historic Franchise For Maximum Realism

I wanted to make a contribution to you guys, since you are all so dedicated, so I have been editing Capa's historic rosters for 3 months and finally have them perfectly realistic.

Capa did a great job, but I found that teams didnt have specific run-pass identities and hall of fame players did not perform up to their capa-bilities.

So I made the stars stars and the teams do more of what they actually did.
Its amazing.
I just played cpu vs. cpu 2000 rams vs. 80 falcons. Both teams had horrible pass defenses, so at the half, we were at 28-28!
Simming the 2nd half led to a 56-52 final.

I played several CPU vs. CPU games with the 1984 dolphins vs. 92
cowboys and in one sample game, Marino and Aikman had 6 TDS and ZERO
ints between them!!!!

All teams have specific strengths and weaknesses now. Teams with lousy pass defense get killed by the long ball and teams with stout run defenses are like walls...star players perform like stars and lead the league in appropriate stat categories, etc...and the coolest thing is you can sim a game and get similar QB stats like when you are playing a game. I found the middle ground.

If you dont like a team in the file, just paste in a new one, and make the attributes similar to the one you are replacing.

Otherwise, I picked some of the greatest teams of all time mixed with some personal faves. They all perform true to life and you will be very happy with the stats simming or playing.

For MAXIMUM control, you can adjust the difficulty sliders for each game to your preference...this is the ONLY adjustment you will need to make.

Just bump up the defensive sliders for Bears 1985 vs. Ravens 2000, and you can have a D- dominant game.
Move em all the way down for 1999 Rams vs. 1984 Dolphins for a high scoring game. The CPU sliders are set up for maximum offense in the current default position.

Feel free to change the human sliders to max offense or to whatever your preference may be. You may also want to raise the CPU kicking to max.
Notice I also adjusted all the teams game plans to...
offense run/pass=20
pass short/deep=32
defense run/pass=0
defense man/zone=0
cover short/deep=40
run in/out=your preference
blitz=20.

This is to enjoy a good passing game. Change them at your own risk.
I find that they dont need changing. Just adjust the in game sliders to your preference.

Special thanks to Capa, Finn, Puja and JRod and Jsou's suggestions for attributes, settings and formations. Thanks to all you guys.

Please let me know how you like it.
thanks

ps- the one regret that I have is that some team playbooks are repeated.
This is because I tried to keep the running and passing game percentages as real as possible. Feedback to improve this would be appreciated.

Thanks so much! I'll have to test them.
One question -- when people make rosters, why do they sometimes save as franchises? Why not roster files?

Because a franchise (season) can incorporate the current (or any created) schedule whereas a simple roster cannot.

But then you couldn't just do quick play... know what I mean? I na franchise you have to adhere to the schedule but with a roster file you can just play whenever and whoever you want. Thanks anyway.

Well, that's a given. But also consider that maybe the game is not programmed to play as tough in exhibition mode vs. season and tourney.
