Could someone help a french newbie?

As you can see I'm new to this forum but not to NFL 2k5.
I'm thinking of updating the rosters in order to continue playing the best football game ever made.

I play on xbox 360.

As far as I've understood, you need your 360's hard drive to update your rosters but the problem is that I have a xbox 360 core system. Therefor I don't have a HD but just a memory card. I know it isn't possible to update rosters via a memory card.

Then I also live in France, so i have a PAL version of NFL 2k5. I saw that some people (with a PAL version) managed to update their rosters using a NTSC save while other people say it doesn't work.

Therefor my questions are simple:

-Is it worth buying a external 360 hard drive and will the updates work with that kind of HD?

-Can someone tell me if the updates work on a PAL system?

Thanks a lot !!

You may wanna call 2K customer support on the PAL part.

Other than that, yes it is worth it to buy a hard drive to play this game I did. I looked around and got a Hard drive and an Xsata for $60 total!

Okay thanks, well that's one problem solved.
Did you find your Hard drive and xsata in a local store or on internet? If so could you tell me where?

Re: Could someone help a french newbie?

I would look on Amazon.com for the hard drive...a used like new one will probably do the trick or a local store....i am not sure whats avail. in your location?

On the Xport/Xsata use the search tool here at the forums and do a search for it. There have been may posts as to where you can get one via internet.

Re: Could someone help a french newbie?

Well in local stores, here in France, a xbox 360 hard drive costs 100 euros wich is abot $150...

Nevertheless, I managed to found a website wich sells a xbox 360 HD (20GB) + a xsata device for 50 euros (£75).

So I'd really like to know if the updates will work on my PAL system, does anybody know?

Thanks for your help gobucks!

Re: Could someone help a french newbie?

i think most on this forum who play nfl 2k5 use the ntsc version. i would suggest you do a search on this forum about the PAL version to see who has been successful in using an NTSC gamesave or take a chance, buy the HDD, and give it a go. I know its easy for me to say spend the money on a HDD, but if it doesn't work at least you will no longer be as restricted as far as how much you can save. i hope that you are able to use the gamesaves and editor found on this site because they really do make this game timeless.
