I'm an idiot when it comes to transferring and things like that but I want to update rosters. Can I do it myself? I thought I could but I read you can only create 64 players...

Yeah, you will only get so far creating players, more than 64 i think, somewhere in the region of 150 I believe.
I would get the cable or xport for the latest rosters, you won't regret it.
The roster makers on this site do an excellent job
