Original Xbox or Xbox 360???

I know this has been mentioned in some thread that I can't seem to locate so I guess I'll rehash this topic.

I'm curious what the user community's thoughts are on how ESPN 2k5 plays on the original XBOX vs. XBOX 360. Here are my thoughts, please leave comments as I'm choosing one or the other this year in my franchise and would love to hear what everyone thinks.

Xbox
Controller vibrates
Field lines look normal
Gameplay seems a touch smoother

Xbox 360
Better graphics (1080 vs 480)
I like the controller better with the RB/LB buttons minus the vibration, of course
Field lines are glichy looking

Please leave your thoughts as I might start using the Original if it sounds like a better option.

Go Bills!

Re: Original Xbox or Xbox 360???

i like both, 360 for graphics, original xbox cuz of custom soundtracks!!! i play now more on 360 even though i have my old xbox as well!!! i use to play it with fast game speed, to give it more of an arcade like feel, but i see on 360 u gotta put it to normal cuz of course the processor on the xbox360 is faster!!!

Re: Original Xbox or Xbox 360???

They're both great but the 360 being the newer system with the online update juiced the graphics abit sharper but not too much looks sharper imo.

What I didn't like on the original was the fat controller but its no biggie I just bought a NYKO wireless set feels great now in my hands.

I still play 2k4, 2k3 and other older football titles on it so for me the original XBOX is still a solid can't miss system to own especially if you still play 2k football games and your moneys tight....you can pick up a 2k5 game for .99 cents and have your football served up as if you purchased a new game.

Re: Original Xbox or Xbox 360???

You guys absolutely cannot obtain a 720p image from a game that was only designed for as high as 480p. All you are getting is a stretched image and thus, the jaggies:

480p is the shorthand name for a video display resolution. The p stands for progressive scan, i.e. non-interlaced. The 480 denotes a vertical resolution of 480 pixel high vertically scanning lines, usually with a horizontal resolution of 640 pixels and 4:3 aspect ratio or a horizontal resolution of less than 854 pixels for an approximate 16:9 aspect ratio (480 × 16⁄9 = 853.333…). Since a pixel must be a whole number, in Wide VGA displays it is generally rounded up to 854 to ensure inclusion of the entire image. The frame rate (hertz) is usually 30 or 60 progressive frames per second and can be given explicitly after the letter p. The frames are displayed progressively as opposed to interlaced. 480p was used for many early Plasma televisions.[1][2] Standard definition has always been a 4:3 aspect ratio with a pixel resolution of 640 × 480 pixels. Mini-DV, DVCAM, DV footage is recorded at 29.97 frames per second in this standard definition as seen on DV tapes.
480p does not qualify as high-definition television (HDTV); it is considered Enhanced-definition television (EDTV).

When I had NFL 2K5, I always thought it looked best on an older CRT TV vs. my flat screen. A good CRT TV like a SONY or JVC in good shape will display it well. And you could probably find larger ones for $50 used any more.

I agree 100% that it looks better on CRT SONY TV.
