2k5 classic rosters, merging teams into 32 team league?

Hello all.

I recently bought an action replay max disk to copy a roster file from nfl2k5rosters.com on to my PS2. It's the one Capa made of the best team from each franchise (THANKS CAPA!)

Anyway, since that file was created, there have been some teams that you could argue have surpassed the level of certain teams included in Capa's file. Examples would be the Panthers when they went 15-1 in 2015, and the Seahawks when they won the Super Bowl in 2013.

Is there a way to take a team file from someone's season roster, and copy over a team in the place of another? BTW I don't see any seasons listed on NFL2k5rosters.com beyond certain years for the PS2, so I wouldn't know where to find the 2013 or 2015 seasons.

Is this something that can be done with some PC editing software? If so, where do I find it?

Is this something I can be done inside of NFL2k5 by creating a new franchise league, and assign teams into the file?

Thanks in advance.

This is something that could be done with NFL2K5Tool.

I noticed something between the editors. See attached pics. One editor shows 52 players on this sample Redskins team, while the other only shows 51. Any idea what's going on?

It's probably a bug in NFL2k5Tool.
NFL2K5Tool only really works well with the base Roster & franchise files right now (for saving data).
I thought it generally read data well, but it has bugs for sure.

The best way to accomplish the task of replacing teams in a file would be the following process:
1. With NFL2K5Tool, open Capa's file; List Contents; save contents in a text file.
2. Get the Text data of the Teams you want to add.
3. Make a text file with all the data you want to apply (Ideally sort the players best to worst by position or try the sort operation under Edit->Sort Players)
4. 'Load Save' use the Base Franchise (or base roster)
5. File -> 'Apply Data without Saving'
6. Edit -> 'Auto update Depth Chart'
7. Click 'Save'; save as a new file.
If you open the File with Finn's editor after you edit it with NFL2K5Tool, do not let it auto-correct anything if it prompts you.
If it's still giving you trouble, upload the text you'd like to apply (specify roster or franchise) and I'll take a look.
