I'm back again...and think I have something I like with sliders...finally

what's up family? i went to blockbuster yesterday to get this game for 7 bucks...i missed it and wanted to really give it's coach mode a try. well, i started a franchise with the giants (worst team in the game by default rosters). we won the first preseason game 31-10 over the cardinals. i NEED the ability to call audibles primarily because of the running game so i played the 2nd game against the bills as opposed to coaching. i still coach defense though. here are the numbers....i like 'em.

Code:
                         Giants Bills
score 22 31
1st Downs 9 17
Total Yards 367 442
Passing Yards 285 331
Avg. Yards/Attempt 10.2 11.4
Rushing Yards 82 111
Avg. Yards/Carry 3.0 3.6
Yards Allowed 442 367
Passing Yards Allowed 331 285
Rushing Yards Allowed 111 82
Individual
E.Manning (NYG): 12-17, 252 Yds, 2 TD, 1 Int
D.Bledsoe (BUF): 13-29, 331 Yds, 2 TD, 4 Int

R.Dayne (NYG): 14 Att, 49 Yds
T.Henry (BUF): 29 Att, 106 Yds

J.Shockey (NYG): 4 Rec, 138 Yds, TD
A.Toomer (NYG): 4 Rec, 89 Yds, TD
L.Evans (BUF): 5 Rec, 152 Yds, TD

C.Emmons (NYG): 5 Tkl, 2 Ast
L.Milloy (BUF): 10 Tkl, 1 Ast, FR

as some of you know, i like numbers. i used the difficulty modifier in the crib tally to find out what the modifier was on each difficulty.

rookie: 1.00
pro: 1.25
all-pro: 1.50
legend: 1.75

i don't exactly what the difficulty modifier does because i don't use the crib it it helped me to have something to go by when adjusting my sliders. because all the sliders are even on all-pro you'd that that would be the best difficulty to play on but, if you'll notice, the modifier isn't where it should be if it was the difficulty in the dead center. if it goes from .00-.75, the dead center would be .375 or .38. well, i fiddled around with only adjusting human offensive sliders and cpu defensive sliders because that is what, imo, needed work. i found that 1.38 difficulty modifier that i was looking for and it didn't take me long at all...a matter of changing sliders and going quit > rematch > kickoff > options > crib tally to check the modifier.

i know it's only been 2 games but i like what i've seen.

here are the sliders i'll most likely be using and if these hold up then my copy of ncaa 07, nfl hc and this copy of madden 07 that i WAS about to buy from gamefly can all go to, well, you know where.

Code:
Slider
Human Blocking 32
Human Passing 32
Human Running 32
Human Catching 32
Human Coverage 20
Human Pursuit 20
Human Tackling 20
Human Kicking 20
Human Fatigue 20
  CPU Blocking 20
  CPU Passing 20
  CPU RUnning 20
  CPU Catching 20
  CPU Coverage 8
  CPU Pursuit 8
  CPU Tackling 8
  CPU Kicking 20
  CPU Fatigue 20
       Injury 20
       Fumble 32
Interceptions 8
this gives me that 1.38 difficulty modifier that i crave. i'm playing the browns next.

i can feel it guys. espn 2k5 makes everything that i know about football mean something. i think what i might try is to stay in coach mode...switch out if i need to call and audible...then switch back. it takes about 5 sec to pause, switch and call and audible really quick. i'll let you know.

Re: I'm back again...and think I have something I like with sliders...finally

final preseason game...at home vs. broncos

finished the preseason 3-1

Code:
                      Broncos Giants
Score 14 23
1st Downs 15 18
Total Yards 246 343
Passing Yards 175 179
Avg. Yards/Attempt 6.5 6.4
Rushing Yards 71 164
Avg. Yards/Carry 3.2 5.4
Broncos
J.Plummer: 14-27, 175 Yds, TD, 2 Int
G.Hearst: 19 Att, 59 Yds, TD
R.Smith: 7 Rec, 81 Yds, TD
J.Lynch: 7 Tkl, 4 AST, 1 Sack, FF

Giants
E.Manning: 13-28, 179 Yds
T.Barber: 24 Att, 136 Yds, TD
A.Toomer: 6 Rec, 80 Yds
O.Stoutmire: 6 Tkl, 5 AST
S.Williams: 6 Tkl, AST, PD, Int

i did what i mentioned in the previous post about coming out of coach mode to call audibles and it appeared to work well. Barber was still able to move the ball on the ground and Eli wasn't screwing up because I stink at playing QB. I feel this becoming my primary source of football entertainment.

Other than some of your INT ratios, you're getting real good numbers. Why not zero out the INT slider? They'll still happen.
