    Basic Slider Set

What would be a good set of sliders to use when I get the game? I just plan one using the default rosters and simming a few year in my franchise.

No way to answer this because it all depends on how you play the game (control players vs coach only) and how good you are.

If you are just simming you don't need sliders. Just set the sim game length to 5 mins.

I am definately controlling my players and I am no stranger to the way 2k plays, I just want something that makes it play realisticallyand fixes some issues.

Personally, I've settled on default All-Pro for this game w/Puja's sliders).

The problem with sliders is that you're always fiddling with them trying to get them right... It just goes in circles. I've tried a dozen from this forum, and none of them have worked for me (including the previously mentioned Bill's - they were the worst... I was winning by 60-70 every game).

But you're not going to be able to get a set answer from anyone - just try out a few and see how it goes. And don't forget about trying default sliders. They're set where they are for a reason - and often fiddling with them just screws up more things.

Also - keep the penalty sliders not much above 1/2. I've found that like All-Pro 2k8, if they're higher, then players don't play as aggressively, and it messes up a few things like defensive back play.

I have seen the sets up here but it seems most of them are supposed to be used in correlation with certain rosters and such? Am I just reading to much into them?

Many do used roster sets, yeah. Mostly because some rosters have very specific edits to attributes, and the sliders go hand in hand with them.

ones like Bill's and Zero sliders pretty much go with the default sliders, though.

                  Re: Basic Slider Set

Co-sign on the penalty sliders. I reduced some of the Defensive P.I. and defensive holding and the CB's play much better.
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

I actually prefer Bill Harris sliders with Puja's rosters as well. I had to bump the human coverage down a click or two for better CPU completion %'s, but other than that, they're pretty realistic for me, and realism is what I shoot for.

                    My 2 cents.

Again, it all depends on how you play the game.

                        Capa is right.

I think the best way to start from is the "Zero Slider Theory" and move on from there. If you search for Rickster's post you can find some good stuff there.

I am not a big slider person, and hate dealing with that kind of stuff. ALL-PRO default was good for me, then got a bit easy, Put it on legend and it is very hard. I give up way to many big plays and its hard to run the ball. I gave in and did some tweaking of my own and slightly change the blocking and the running for myself and the CPU. i (my avg went up from 1.5 to 2.5 lol) I still keep getting blown out. I want to know i can at least win a game to start my franchise.

How much Impact does 1 click on the sliders affect have?

Can anyone suggest what would be a better way to go? make the game harder or easier? ex Make the passing games easier on legend, or it harder on all pro?

I don't think it would make to much of a difference.

all pro level...human running up 5, cpu running up 10, human coverage down 5 or 10 depending on how hard u want it to defend cpu pass "O"...5 minute quarters..altho plays r down, stats r where they should be as far as rushing u get about 3 to 4 yards average attempt cpu and human (unless u have or the cpu has a good game) around 250 yards passing per game unless u have a really good game or bad and the cpu is completing around 60 to 70%. performance EQ OFF!!! please let the teams be able to do what they r suppposed to and don't limit them. other then that i feel visual concepts put alot of effort into how the game was supposed to play and with these minimal tweaks on all pro u should have alot of good battles on ur hands and games u should win u will but u will also get upset if u don't play good...that's the key...randomness to what's gonna happen.
