Fantasy Football Bad Beats (or Good Fortune for you Lucky Ones)

I thought it could be fun/cathartic to release some anger about bad beats from the fantasy week.

I had a terrible one this weekend. My team underachieved, but I was up 18 points going into the Monday Night game this week between NO and ATL. My opponent had Matt Ryan while I had Julio Jones.

Well, Julio was almost useless, but I was still in the lead late in the game as ATL was securing the win. The play that caused me to lose by less than 1 point? Matt Ryan's 18 yard scramble in pretty much garbage time. I almost re-took the lead on his kneel, but not quite.

It turns out, 3 other matchups in my league came down to a difference of less than 1 point, which I've never seen before in one week.

Fantasy football is great, but it's the worst at the same time.

I was down about 50 points heading into Monday night in one league. I had Drew Brees and Cody Fleener ( who hadnt done jack all year). They had Julio.

I won by 2.

In my other league though, despite starting James Winston, Christine Michael and Tevin Coleman, I lost by 39 points because my starting wrs Julio, KB, and Cooks got me a Whopping 2 points While Marvin Jones and TP warmed the bench. LOL.

Week 2 was losing by 6 points late into the Monday night game. I have Ryan Matthews. The Eagles leading late in the game and decide to go for it on 4th down and get stopped. But wait there's a penalty on the play. Birds go for it again and this time they go to Matthews and he punches it in. I end up winning by 0.5 point. Getting lucky is better then being good some times.

I had 250 yards of rushing and 7 TD's on the bench (J Hill, Blount, T. Coleman)

My starters were C. Michael and S. Ware. Michael had 2 TD's himself and Ware had a TD overturned that would've given me the win.

Started Tannehill against Cleveland. Cleveland decides to finally make a game of it. Tannehill throws 2 INT's early.

Was told you always start your stud WR's. Suffice to say that is the dumbest advice ever. Minnesota put Kelvin Benjamin to sleep.

Lol, it's still good advice but I got bit with it too... but with QB.

Week 2, I was REALLY debating between Luck and Marriota. Luck was coming off his 45 point game while marriota was of course, meh. I ended up thinking I have to go with the early round stud and the final thought of "How bad could it be?"

Of course Luck finished with 6 points to Marriota's 19. I would've lost anyway because I also had Pitta's 17 points (sits behind Olsen) and Crowell's 19 points (was sitting behind Hyde, Simms and Coleman) on my bench.

And Week 1 I didn't start Benjamin against the Broncos and he went off and I lost. Sometimes things happen.
