Re: Kansas City Dynasty (NFL Head Coach 2009)

Going into the draft I have a few things I'm looking for:

Backup QB
Reload on cheap WR's
backup FB or TE
C
Backup RG
RT
Backup LE
Backup-ROLB
Starting and Nickel CB
FS
Backup SS
K/P

QB: With Kolb gone I will need to draft his replacement. A 3rd string would also be nice.

RB: Not much need here, But if I can get someone better to replace what I have I will.

FB: Hester is a Pro Bowler, works out pretty well. I will need a backup with Lott moving back to TE.

WR: I need a replacement for Bowe, but the need for a starter is low since Manninghamd and Jackson have over 90 POT, and there is that Bellows guy.....

TE: Clark will be traded so I will either move Lott back to TE or draft another.

T: J. Thomas is holding down the Left side now. With Boma moving back to RG I will need a starting quality RT.

G: Faneca takes over the LG spot with Thomas showing up. and Boma is returning to RG. Schuening is the backup for both and is ready to go at a moments notice.

C: Satele is the starter and Doleman is the backup. Both are tradeable. Satele because he gets tired alot still and Doleman only has an 80 OVR.

LE: Undrafted FA Redman turned into a Sack machine and holds the spot here. A backup will be looked for.

RE: Long still holds the starting spot and isn't going anywhere. Opoe is the backup and works good.

DT: Not much need here. Moore and Lopez are Pro Bowlers. Smithersworked great in a backup role. If I can get a good 4th guy I will, not a priority.

LOLB: D. Johnson Covers the position well, not flashy or high in stats, but plays well. Knox does a good job as backup and started alot due to injurys to Mayo.

MLB: Jackson is the star of the Defence. Gooden is a quality backup and O'Neal is serviceable as well.

ROLB: Mayo is the starter here, but he gets hurt constantly. I can cover the cost of dumping him, But I hate to get rid of a 1st round draft pick so soon. Will need a backup here that can fill in or I will just keep starting Knox in his place when he gets hurt.

CB: Jenkins is the starter. Trufant is the 2nd starter, but at 6.3m a season he's looking like someone I'm paying to much. He will be on the block. Surtain is also one of those guys that makes to much, but at 4.6 a year, I will try and trade him, but his contract may hurt his value. Bowman never seems to get anywhere due to his learning.

FS: Hamlin is a Pro Bowler but I think I can do better, so if I can get value for him I will trade him. Backup Justin is my backup K/PR, but not good enough to start.

SS: Polamalu, enough said. A Backup would be good as well.

K/P Colquitt was last in the league, Serna has already been traded.

Re: Kansas City Dynasty (NFL Head Coach 2009)

Looking to trade down to the early part of the 1st round for CB out of Ohio St. C. Taylor is a strong press/Man Coverage corner that is right up my alley since I rarely run zone coverage.

Another guy I'm looking at is LT J. Davis, He should be available around my 25 pick, may have to trade up a few if he looks like he is on someone radar.

C Ron Brown out of Northwestern is compaired to N. Hardwick (I think) and should be available mid 3rd round.

These Three guys are my focus this draft. Others I am looking at due to their compairison:

D. Mathis, CB Mid 3rd round.
J. Holland, RG Late 3rd round.
J. Green, QB
M. Roberts MLB

JJ. Collins is another guy I want to mention, He is compaired to my hero Polamalu. He should go late 1st round but if I can find a trade I would do it.

Re: Kansas City Dynasty (NFL Head Coach 2009)

Draft Day:

1st Round.

3rd pick. Atlanta is Taking bids for it's 3rd round pick. A check to see what they want shows I could get the pick for Trufant, Hamlin and a 5th round (143) pick. Looking at it the best player available is X.Cox a LE out of Florida. I don't have a need for a LE. But looking at his abilities, he doesn't have a flaw.... Well all I have been hearing about is this guy so he must be worth it. Drafted.

12th pick. Buffalo looks to be in the market for a CB. They are not into a trade but they take D. Clark, a 2nd (36) and a 3rd (71) for the 12th pick and I draft CB C. Taylor.

24th Pick. Cleveland has this pick and I figure them to try and draft the T I'm looking at. I take a risk and let them draft and they are taking offers on their pick! Well, I don't want someone else coming in and stealing my player so I get the pick for P. Colquitt, C Satele and a 3rd round (96) pick. I draft T Davis to fill my RT openning.

25th Pick. My pick from Tenn. Well, I can't pass up Collins since he is still available. I'll put him a FS.

I trade out of the 2nd round and do not make another pick.

3-1 J. Scott WR
3-6 R. Brown C
3-8 D. Bomani OLB
3-9 D. Mathis CB
4-6 J. Holland G
4-22 J. Lucas T
4-32 JJ Myers FB
5-15 T. Johnston T
5-29 J. Green QB
5-30 M. Roberts MLB
6-16 R. Scott P
7-14 Beasley DT
7-16 R. Brandon FS
7-26 D. Guy QB
7-31 T. Watters HB
7-32 K. Hasty K

Players traded away:
CB Bowman
MLB O'Neal
C Doleman

Undrafted Rookies:
Chambers WR
Andrews OLB
Niz WR
Tillman T
Snider C

Re: Kansas City Dynasty (NFL Head Coach 2009)

Looking at the draft of my AFC West members all three of them drafted Defence. I guess when you play the top ranked offence in football twice a year you need to bulk up your defenders.

C. Beasley (SD) seemed more like a Zone Cover Corner so he was never on my radar.

D. Gilbert (Oak) wasn't someone I looked at due to no need for a DT, but I think I will be running outside a little more on Oak.

D. Boldin (Den) Looks like trouble. Big time LOLB, will need to test the left side of the Den def, see if he makes an impact.
