"It Has Never Been Done Before"
The new General Manager of the Jaguars, Marktg30 didn't mince words when it came to what he would do for the franchise.

"I don't care who you are, veteran or first round pick - if you don't perform you will find yourself in another city on another team."

"My goal is the Super Bowl, same as everyone else - but here in Jacksonville it has never been done before. We haven't even played in the game. That is sad if you consider how much money we are spending on players to not be champions."

"I make moves for the betterment of the team - it is up to the players to play well and earn the money they want."

Looks like the Jags may have an interesting season. No one's job is safe.

Harvey and Smith Earn Starting Spots

Middle Linebacker, Daryl Smith and Rookie Defensive End, Derrick Harvey (above) have been named starters after an intense competition with veterans Mike Peterson and Reggie Hayward.

Both veterans took the moves well as they plan on mentoring the younger players and providing a fresh body whenever needed.

Domination - Jags Smash Titans In Nashville
5610
It was not what the Titans had in mind for their first home game of the season. David Garrard ripped the Tennessee defense for 442 yards and 4 TDs as he completed 26 of 35 passes and threw only one interception.

Matt Jones was Garrard's target for nearly half of Jacksonville's completions. Jones caught 12 passes for 265 yards and 3 TDs as Maurice Jones-Drew chipped in with 24 carries for 94 yards and 2 TDs.

The Jags' defense was also busy as they held rookie Running Back Chris Johnson to 49 yards on 16 carries. Reggie Nelson and Brian Williams were able to force a turnover in the game. Nelson returned an Interception 32 yards and Williams forced and returned a fumbled kick return for 20 yards and a TD.

3- @ Colts

Jacksonville Trades Two Veterans For Draft Picks

In a sudden move, the Jaguars traded Linebacker, Mike Peterson (89 OVR) to the Atlanta Falcons for 2nd and 5th Round picks in the 2009 Draft.

The move makes sense because the Jags have a new starter in Daryl Smith and Peterson was in the final year of his contract. This trade will help the Jags focus on making a transition to GM Marktg30's new system.

In another move, the Jags sent beloved RB Fred Taylor 86 OVR) and a 7th Rd. Pick to the Denver Broncos for 2nd and 5th Rd Picks.

Taylor has been replaced by Maruice Jones-Drew. Denver is in need of a solid RB to help them on Offense - Taylor can give them immediate production - unlike current HB, Peyton Hillis.

Jags Bite Bills For 43 In Win
4324

After trading away Fred Taylor and Mike Peterson many Jaguar fans were curious to see if there would be a drop off after the 46 point victory over division rival Tennessee. The Jags answered with 24 second half points - starting with a Rasean Mathis Pick-6.

Once again, a solid game by Matt Jones and David Garrard helped take pressure off of Maurice Jones-Drew as he picked up 95 yards and 2 TDs.

Garrard and Jones once again made opposing secondaries look like high school kids. Jones's speed and size have made it difficult for any defense to match up - Donte Whitner was left 2 yards behind Jones after trying to play a physical game against 6'6'" Jones.

NEXT 5 GAMES -

3- @ Colts
4- Texans
5- Steelers
6- @ Broncos

7- Chargers

*Note - Johnson Should be LYNCH under Rushing Stats

Thanks! I appreciate hearing from readers. I am going to try and make this Franchise last until August 14. I don't have a certain amount of seasons planned - so who knows how far it might go.
