Well we have a need at C and FS and there are plenty of Centers in the FA pool...it just depends on the price. FS Otogwe could be a good addition provided we get him for the right price. We could also upgrade at TE and FB, however since these aren't focus areas of my offense...might be better of looking to the draft.

Lots of guys I'd like, but I think the price may be too steep for many of them.

Scouting the Draft:

Well, I was right my prohibitions on scouting have definitely made things more interesting now that I'm doing my combine scouting.

Precombine scouting was just guess work. I focused on Oklahoma State guys without any good reason.

Now that we have combine results I'm looking at the Physical Durability and Size #'s. I'm not paying too much attention to Production, but some have an intangible rating shown and I factor that in.

For right now if I find a guy with 90+ in physical, durability and size I scout him.

I have found out which "Path" I'm on. #1 Prospect is Jack English. I haven't had that draft in awhile so I don't know anyone except the QB's English, Morrow, Below, and Kelly James.

The dilemma is do I go for one of the QB's even though I have Trent Edwards at 85?

Free Agents and Trade Block:

CB Chris McAlister just got a $9.2 M/year deal with the Texans

Coach Joslin and GM R.C. McGriggs are making some calls about players they are willing to trade hoping to garner a few more draft picks. Players being discussed are:

HB Dwayne Wright 71
WR Josh Reed 76
WR Roscoe Parrish 76
WR James Hardy 68
WR Armond Sullivan 64
WR Steve Johnson 63
TE Robert Royal
TE Courtney Anderson
TE Derek Fine
LE Ryan Denney 78
LE Chris Kelsay 78
RE Chris Ellis 77
DT John McCargo 75
DT Spencer Johnson 68
LOLB Alvin Bowen 72
CB Kenny Cousins 64
K Rian Lindell 88
P Brian Moorman 88

The only real suprises are K Lindell and P Moorman as both are top flight talents. Clearly Coach Joslin thinks he can find replacements in the Draft or Free Agency.

The decision to go for another QB should depend if you want Trent Edwards or not.

Re: Buffalo Bills Dynasty - Head Coach 09

Edwards is solid 87 THP 84 THA 70 AWR 85 LRN...I have no problems with him as my starter.

With that said, His salary is only like $550K so I could easily move him into the backup role and not feel a number crunch there.

Do you pass on one of the great ones considering anywhere else I spend those picks is a crapshoot?

Still going back and forth.

Trent Edwards 2008 stats (simmed season)
Rating 89.6, 43 TD, 23 INT, 4366 Yards, 272.8 Avg G, 7.7 Avg 316 Comp, 563 Att, 56% Comp%, Sacked 52 times (ouch! 5th most in the league)

Trade Update:

Bills trade K, Rian Lindell to Indianapolis for a 3rd round (94th) pick and a 7th round (222nd) pick in the upcoming 2009 draft.

Bills trade their 6th and 7th round picks in the 2010 draft to the Atlanta Falcons for HB, Jason Snelling.

Sources at the Bills Orchard Park facility say the team plans on moving Snelling to FB to challenge Darian Barnes for the starting spot.
