Who Better? October 18, 2009 - 10:40 am Posted by AllstarMe

I absolutely had my worst statistical game as a Hokie, but who cares? We took care of business against a higher ranked opponent, and hopefully put ourselves in the drivers seat for the ACC.

That loss to Miami hurt us, but we're 6-1 now and have some big wins. Beating Alabama in the opener and now crushing Georgia Tech on their home field really make us feel pretty good about everything. They had one big play, and the rest of the game they really struggled to move the ball against us.

I only got four tackles, but they ran to the left side all day long. Seriously, I think they ran right two or three times the entire game. I can't blame them, being afraid of a freshman, hah.

They had one run for 80 yards, and on the rest of them they had 46 yards on 21 carries, that's pretty good. Their passing game was awful too. Not to mention their third downs, but all that matters is we beat them. We proved we are the better team.

4 Tackles
1 Tackles for Loss
1 Sack

I picked up that sack late in the game, I think it was on their last drive on a 3rd down. Doesn't matter when it is, it stopped a drive and I was happy to oblige. We have next week off now, then we get North Carolina at home, I like having time to prepare.

Coach gave us a few days off after the win. Told us to study. Don't think so.

We're #3!?! Bama(4), Florida State(7), Kansas(3), all lost. Glad I didn't go to Florida 4-3 ranked #19

That Was Intense October 29, 2009 - 10:40 am Posted by AllstarMe

UNC was dominating us through the first half. They were moving the ball up and down the field and luckily we were barely holding on. Our offense was doing nothing either, which just compounded the problem, then the half came.

We trailed 17-7 at the half, and as the third quarter started it looked like more of the same. Until our defense got together before coming out for our first series of the second half. We just decided we weren't going allow them to do what they had been doing.

Easier said then done, but we picked off Tyler Yates in our end zone, and that really got it started. After we missed a game tying field goal with about three minutes left they had the ball. It looked like they had just gotten a first down but Kam laid out there receiver and he fumbled. Kam picked it up, then Ty and the offense did the rest getting into the end zone.

Easily the most intense game I've been in here at Va Tech so far.

I really got it going today, it started early just getting after the ball carrier, and I finally reached my goal of 6 sacks in the fourth quarter. It was a big play too, that really killed a pretty good drive they had going.

East Carolina next week. Finally a bit of a break.
