Re: Bungle Power - Fixing the Bengals

Wow, nothing says 'rebuilding the defense' getting rid of Hall and Johnson.

Re: Bungle Power - Fixing the Bengals

Have the Bengals Arrived?

After breaking .500 last season and missing the playoffs with a 9-7 record the Bengals were boisterous about their chances this season. Carson Palmer gauranteed a playoff berth before last seasons playoffs had even begun.

At 5-0 with victories over Pittsburgh and Baltimore the Bengals chances look pretty good at this point. Outscoring their opponents by at least 13 points a game they look to be firing on all cylinders on both sides of the ball. Tennessee is also 5-0 and is the only other unefeated team left. The Titans visit Paul Brown Stadium in week 8. Cincy hosts Denver (4-1) this Sunday.

yeah hall was slower than I want in a cb, he was keeping younger high potential guys on the bench and he didn't translate to safety well

Johnson wanted a huge contract so I signed him to a one year deal then saw what the draft offered and made the move

Re: Bungle Power - Fixing the Bengals

SNOW WAY!
Bengals Stomp Pats in the Snow, Head to Superbowl

Despite a 14-2 regular season most people thought the Bengals would go down in flames against the Pats in the conference championship. Instead the Cats leaned heavily on their running game and played keepaway from Tom Brady to send the Pats packing 42-17 in a snowy game at Paul Brown stadium.

Both teams had trouble passing with the Bengals gaining 78 yards through the air and New England 70. The big difference was on the ground where the Patriots got a mere 74 yard Cincy pounded for 269. Jones led the way with 166 and 2 TDs while Singletary added 59 and 3 scores. The Bengals also scored on a 73 yard Palmer to Zinger TD. Palmer was 2/3 for 78 yards and the TD. The Bengal D held the Pats to just 3 first downs.

The Bengals face the Falcons in the Superbowl in two weeks.
