Re: Las Vegas Aces (Madden 2010)

Aces Sign Safety
Release KR Justin Miller

September 14, 2009
Las Vegas, NV

(AP) It's just a few hours after the loss and CB/KR Justin Miller will need to find a new home. After allowing 408 passing yards by Seattle's Matt Hasselbeck, Las Vegas has come to terms with SS Gerald Alexander.

Gerald Alexander will start next week

Alexander, 25, was released by the Jacksonville Jaguars earlier this week and will start next week against the Washington Redskins. Marlon McCree will move to Free Safety and Von Hutchins will start at Cornerback opposite DeAngelo Smith.

Justin Miller fumbled a kick return in OT yesterday, allowing Seattle to kick in a chip shot field goal for the win.

Week 2 Preview
Las Vegas Aces (0-1) @ Washington Redskins (1-0)

September 19, 2009
Washington, D.C.

(AP) Las Vegas will travel to D.C. in search of their first victory against Washington, but will face a very hungry team led by RB Clinton Portis who ran for 95 yards and touchdown in his last game. QB Jason Campbell is right there with him, putting up a 103.1 QB Rating in their 36-7 win against the Giants.

The One Hundred Million Dollar Man

KEYS TO SUCCESS

The Flop
RB Warrick Dunn was held to just 38 yards and will have trouble against the Redskins with DT Albert Haynesworth plugging up the middle. Short passes, accurate must be thrown in replacement of the running game.

The Turn

Take care of the football. The Aces turned the ball over 4 times against the Seahawks last week. This needs to be avoided.

The River

Contain QB Jason Campbell. After allowing Hasselbeck to pick apart the secondary last week, we need to come up big this game.

INJURY REPORT
LAS VEGAS ACES

DE Kevin Carter: OUT

WASHINGTON REDSKINS

QB Colt Brennan: OUT
OG Mike Williams: OUT
OG Randy Thomas: OUT

SWAMI SAYS: 28-14, Redskins

Aces Fold in D.C.
Garcia accounts for 5 turnovers in 21-49 loss

Washington's D swarms the Aces

September 20, 2009
Washington, D.C.

(AP) Las Vegas stands 0-2 after the Washington Redskins score 29 points in the fourth quarter, including 2 Pick-6's. QB Jeff Garcia threw 4 interceptions in total and also fumbled the ball amidst a game tying drive in the fourth quarter.

IT WAS OVER WHEN...
Aces QB Jeff Garcia threw his 2nd Pick-6 of the game, as DT Cornelius Griffin took a 64 yard scamper to the house.

GAME BALL
The Washington Redskins' Defense will share the game ball, forcing 7 turnovers (5 interceptions, 2 fumble recoveries) and sacking the quarterback 5 times.

KEY STAT
The Aces beat the Redskins in total yards, first downs, and 3rd down conversions, but the 7 turnovers killed any hopes of a win.

NOTEWORTHY
In just two games, QB Jeff Garcia has thrown 6 INTs compared to only 3 TDs... QB Alex Brink entered the fourth quarter and also threw an INT.

WHAT'S NEXT?

The Aces will travel home for their home opener against Aaron Rogers and the Packers.

LAS VEGAS ACES STATISTICS
QB Jeff Garcia: 26/40, 269 Yards, 2 TD, 4 INT; 3 Rush, 47 Yards, 1 Fumble
RB Warrick Dunn: 14 Rush, 52 Yards; 6 Rec, 76 Yards, 1 TD
WR Matt Jones: 6 Rec, 104 Yards, 1 TD
LB Zach Thomas: 4 Tackles

Re: Las Vegas Aces (Madden 2010)

Week 3 Preview
Green Bay Packers (2-0) @ Las Vegas Aces (0-2)

Garcia is Officially on the Hot Seat

September 26, 2009
Las Vegas, NV

(AP) The winless Aces open up their first home game against Aaron Rodgers and the 2-0 Packers. Las Vegas' Defense will need to step up big time, as their 30th ranked pass defense face the leading team in touchdown passes. Las Vegas is also last in points allowed - allowing 97 points in just two games.

LB Nick Barnett leads the Packer D and the NFL with 19 tackles, averaging 9.5 tackles a game.

This will be the first NFL game in Las Vegas, NV. It is expected to be a sellout crowd.

KEYS TO SUCCESS

The Flop
QB Jeff Garcia will have to come up big time. Speculation points to a different route at quarterback if he doesn't take care of the ball. QB1 is his job to lose.

The Turn
RB Warrick Dunn is showing signs of age, accumulating just 90 yards on 30 attempts the past two games. It may come to no surprise if the Aces go to Lorenzo Booker for more carries, however, he will have to pick holes patiently against this stingy defense.
The River

The Defense was ridiculously poor these past two games. Anything under 30 points allowed will be at least a moral victory for Vegas.

INJURY REPORT

GREEN BAY PACKERS

OG Josh Sitton: OUT
CB Will Blackmon: OUT

LAS VEGAS ACES

DE Kevin Carter

SWAMI SAYS: 35-10, Green Bay Packers

RB Ian Johnson played a key role in today's game

September 27, 2009
Las Vegas, NV

(AP)
Las Vegas pulled off an upset over Green Bay as the Cheese-heads were grated for a loss. Led by QB Jeff Garcia's 100.0 Passer Rating, the Aces were able to win without any turnovers.

RB Ian Johnson led the team in rushing with 3 scores on the ground on 23 attempts, as RB Warrick Dunn sustained a broken collarbone early in the first quarter. Doctors pinpoint a slow a recovery timeframe for the veteran runner.

KEY STAT

Las Vegas' defense held the Pack to 245 total yards - 58 rushing and 187 passing.

NOTEWORTHY

RB Lorenzo Booker ran 44 yards on 7 attempts and added 33 reception yards for the game. Be on the lookout for who starts at running back next week.

WHAT'S NEXT?

The Aces head to San Francisco to face the 2-1 49ers.

GREEN BAY PACKERS STATISTICS
QB Aaron Rodgers: 16/26, 207 Yards, 1 TD, 2 INT

Re: Las Vegas Aces (Madden 2010)

Week 4 Preview
Las Vegas Aces (1-2) @ San Francisco 49ers (2-1)

Rookie Lorenzo Booker is penciled in to start at running back

October 3, 2009
San Francisco, CA

(AP)
Las Vegas seeks their second win of the season against San Francisco tomorrow. Rookie RB Lorenzo Booker has been called up to start for the injured Warrick Dunn. Ian Johnson will handle goal line situations and will be 3rd down running back.

Rookie CBs DeAngelo Smith and Mike Mickens are also starting tomorrow, placing veterans Von Hutchins and Ricky Manning as the third and fourth options, respectively. Mickens played great man coverage on Greg Jennings last week and Smith came up with a pick on QB Aaron Rodgers.

KEYS TO SUCCESS
The Flop
The Aces did a good job of keeping the ball and not turning it over against the Pack last week. They look to do it again this game.
The Turn
If the Aces' secondary allows QB Shaun Hill to torch them, then all is lost this season.
The River

Keep an eye on QB Jeff Garcia. He looks hungry to prove critics wrong about his inaccuracy and decision making.

INJURY REPORT
LAS VEGAS ACES

RB Warrick Dunn: OUT
DE Kevin Carter: OUT

SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS

DE Justin Smith: OUT
OG David Baas: OUT
OG Tony Bragge: OUT
OG Chilo Rchal: OUT

I really like this. The poker flavor is unique, there is not too much text (just enough), the pictures are good too.

Gerald Alexander was a good pickup. I think the Lions should have kept him, instead of dealing him for a slot receiver past his prime.

Thanks man!

As of right now, I don't have the time to write long, detailed recaps, but I do try to get the points across.
