Troy, Alabama - North Texas, coming off of a disappointing Conference lose at home to FAU, was looking to get the season back on track.
The Mean Green came out strong in the first quarter, scoring 20 (missed XP), including a interception returned for a touch down by CB Adrian Pittman. The second quarter was a different story, with the defense losing their way and allowing 24, including a 55 yard interception returned for a touch down. The third quarter saw the two teams trading TDs, but the North Texas defense still struggled, allowing a 81 yard touch down run by Trojan WR Anderson. In the fourth quarter the Mean Green were driving toward the goal line to put themselves ahead for the win, when QB Matt Joseph fumbles the ball on the 2 yard line. Lucky for the Mean Green, LG Antonio McDonald picked up the ball and ran it in for the TD. North Texas wins 34 - 31!

Denton, Texas - Western Kentucky kick the ball off to start the game and North Texas return man, Todd Crowder takes it back for 87 yards and the TD. Still in the first quarter, North Texas again drives and Senior HB, David Brothers takes it in from 10 yards out. The Hill Toppers finally answer with a TD near the end of the first .
A FG by Mean Green kicker, Kenny Jolly, and off setting touch downs have the score of the game at 24 -14, North Texas. Aside from an 85 yard touch down run by Western Kentucky, the Mean Green defense is keeping the game in check. North Texas offense is moving the ball, mostly efficiently, but without and major errors.
The third quarter of the game is quite on the score board, with Western Kentucky scoring just 3 points, with a t. Martin 27 yard try.
In the fourth quarter the two teams exchange touch downs and North Texas seals the win with a Jolly 47 yard field goal.
Sophomore Wide Out, Todd Crowder get North Texas player of the game, with 216 All-purpose yards and two touch downs. The victory also make North Texas Bowl eligible, with their current record of 6-2. The Mean Green are still trailing FIU and FAU for the conference title and still have Florida International on their schedule.
