Re: Flying High:Seattle Seahawks Franchise

Seattle's Woes Continue
Royal and Bailey Dominate Seahawks

@
31--61
Well Matt Hasselbeck herd the cries of TJ Houshmandzadeh but apparently so did Champ Bailey and the rest of the Broncos. Hasselbeck tried on numerous times to get his #1 receiver the ball but he was either picked off or Houshmandzadeh dropped it. Champ Bailey was all over TJ and intercepted Hasselbeck twice, both went for touchdowns. Houshmandzadeh finished with only 3 catches for 55 yards. That was the least of the Seahawks worries though as Denver dominated Seattle on all three phases of the game. Moreno rushed for over 120 yards with 1 touchdown, they sacked Hasselbeck 6 times and picked him off 4 times. They also forced 2 fumbles with 1 recovery. On special teams, Eddie Royal had 1 kickoff return for a touchdown (91 yards) and 1 punt return for a touchdown (88 yards) while Champ Bailey returned a kickoff 91 yards for a touchdown.

"They just outplayed us on every level. They out hustled us out muscled us and just dominated us. Matt (Hasselbeck) forced too many balls and Denver made him pay. Thankfully we have a bye week so we will be taking a close look at the tape and will make the needed adjustments." -Jim Mora said after the game

There were a few bright spots for Seattle in the loss. Michael Dash rushed for 129 yards with 1 touchdown. John Carlson and Deon Branch made some nice catches and each had a touchdown. Lawrence Jackson continues to get to the quarterback as he had 2 sacks. Finally David Hawthorne had a career day with 1 sack, 1 interception and 1 touchdown along with 6 tackles on the day.

NFL WEEK 4 RECAP

Only Four Teams Remain Unbeaten
The only unbeaten team to lose was the Indianapolis Colts who were playing without Peyton Manning. They lost 27-24 to the Cowboys. Curtis Painter proved to be the weak link as we was 19-37 with 198 yards, 1 TD but 4 INTs. The Chargers beat the 49ers 23-20 in OT. The Patriots won a close matchup with the Lions 38-31. The Falcons beat the Cardinals 27-17. Finally the Vikings beat the Eagles 38-27.

Shayne Botts Gets First Win
Shayne Botts finally got the monkey off his back as he rallied the Raiders to a 31-25 win over the Rams. The Raiders were down by 8 in the 4th quarter when Botts hit Higgins for an 8 yard touchdown. McFadden ran in the 2-point conversion. In overtime Justin Fargas broke off a 48 yard touchdown to win the game. Botts went 22-41 for 246 yards and 1 touchdown for a 79.9 quarterback rating. His teammates didn't help him out too much as they combined to drop 5 passes. He and the Raiders have their bye week this week.

Peterson Has Monster Day Against Eagles
Adrian Peterson has broken out of his slump with a big performance against a tough Eagles defense. He ran the ball 20 times for 246 yards and 4 touchdowns. He broke 6 tackles with 218 yards coming after the 1st hit. He broke off 3 20+ yard runs and his longest was an 88 yard touchdown.

Week 4 Game Of The Week
So far every time we pick a game of the week it turns out to be a blow out and this week was no different. The Tennessee Titans manhandled the Washington Redskins 44-24. Chris Johnson ran for 199, on just 21 carries, with 2 touchdowns. Defensively the Titans sacked Campbell 5 times and Chris Hope picked Campbell off twice. Clinton Portis did what he could to help his team. He had 18 carries for 150 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Yea my offense is struggling and for some reason I just couldn't stop their kickoff and punt returns. Oh well I can't lose this week since I am on a bye lol.

NFL WEEK 5 PREVIEW

Will Tom Brady Continue To Dominate?
Tom Brady and the New England Patriots travel to the 2-2 New York Jets this Sunday. Currently Brady leads the league with nearly 1,500 yards and 14 touchdowns. He also has yet to throw an interception this season. Brady is on pace to shatter the record for most passing yards in a season. Currently Dan Marino holds the record with 5,084 yards in a season. Tom Brady is on pace for 5,968 yards this season. He can also eclipse his mark of 50 touchdowns in a season with 59 touchdown passes this season.

When Will The Dolphins Win Again?
The Miami Dolphins are currently 0-4 this season but dating back to last season, they have lost 11 regular season games in a row. Their last victory came in week 10 when they beat the Buccaneers 14-10. This week could be their week though as they host the 1-3 Kansas City Chiefs.

Back In Time.
Kurt Warner comes back from a leg injury just in time as Matt Leinart suffered a season ending injury last week against the Falcons. Warner, who was injured in week 2 against Chicago, was doing pretty well before the injury. He has a rating of 89.6 with 600 yards and 5 touchdowns in two games. Let's see how he fares against the 2-2 49ers.

Game Of The Week
(2-2) @ (2-2)
This is a divisional rivalry where the winner will take take over 1st place of the NFC West. With Kurt Warner back in the lineup, the Cardinals look to recover from consecutive losses to the Chargers and Falcons. The 49ers had won 2 straight games but then lost in overtime to the Chargers. In that game the 49ers held a 3 point lead until Nate Kaeding kicked a 35 yards field goal, with 3 minutes to play, to force the game into OT. This matchup will also feature two of the premier running backs in Frank Gore and Beanie Wells. Gore has rushed for 453 yards while Wells has rushed for 492 yards this season.

NFL WEEK 5 RECAP

Teams Experience A First This Season.
Week 5 was a week for some teams to forget while one team will remember. The Chargers and Vikings met their match this week as The Colts knocked off the Chargers and the Bears knocked off the Vikings. Also this week the Miami Dolphins got their first win this season as the defeated the Kansas City Chiefs. The Patriots and Falcons are the lone undefeated teams left this season. The Patriots have a bye this week while the Falcons take on the slumping Seahawks.

Brady Goes Down!
Tom Brady went down early in last weeks win over the Jets. Thankfully he was only out for the game with a shoulder injury. He now has an extra week to heal up before weeks 7 contest with the Bengals.

Warner Remains Undefeated This Year.
Kurt Warner is now 3-0 this season for the Cardinals. He and his team shut out the 49ers 27 to 0 in this weeks Game of the Week. Warner only threw for 177 yards with 2 touchdowns and 1 interception. Beanie Wells continues to shine with 158 yards and 1 touchdown on 22 carries. Alex Smith had a game he doesn't want to remember. The Cardinals picked him off 4 times as he posted a 1.2 (not a typo) quarterback rating. The Cardinals defense, led by veteran Mike Vrabel, sacked Smith 5 times and just kept him confused the entire game.

Offensive Player Of The Week

Chris Johnson (TEN)
18 carries, 216 yards, 3 touchdowns

Defensive Player Of The Week

Kevin Payne (CHI)
2 tackles, 2 interceptions, 1 touchdown

NFL WEEK 6 PREVIEW

Seattle Hopes Time Off Pays Off
Seattle is currently on a two game slump but is hoping their bye week will pay off for them. They travel to Atlanta to take on the undefeated Falcons. The Falcons will have to rely on the arm of of John Parker Wilson as Matt Ryan an abdominal tear and will miss this week.

Axelrod Goes For Win Number 3 This Week
Rookie quarterback, Logan Axelrod, will lead his Cleveland Browns against the Houston Texas this week. Last week Axelrod defeated the Ravens 30-13 for his 2nd win of the his career. Axelrod currently has a qb rating of 72.5 with 1,046 yards, 7 touchdowns and 7 interceptions.

Delhomme Done In Carolina?
With Jake Delhomme struggling this season (78.7, 758 yds, 7 tds, 5 ints) is it time to start the rookie out of BYU? Matt Rheem, 2nd round pick, has performed well in limited time this season. He has compiled a 141.9 quarterback rating with 165 yards and 2 touchdowns. He has connected on 68 percent of his passes this season compared to 55 percent by Delhomme. Delhomme just doesn't seem to have anything left in the tank and it's only a matter of time before the coaches realize it.

Game Of The Week
(4-1) @ (4-1)
The Tennessee Titans travel to San Diego to battle with the Chargers. Last week the Titans escaped Jacksonville with a come from behind win. The Chargers suffered their first loss of the season as the Colts crushed them 44-24.
