6-0 Lions Put Take Winning Streak to Kansas City

KANSAS CITY--(AP)Matthew Stafford has made a bigger impact on the Lions that most would have thought. The huge play from the three year quarterback has been huge for the Lions. The problem is his there was not always the best cast of players to support him. Detroit struggle on both sides of the ball with their lines. Last year they sought to help the defensive side first by adding in highly regarded draft pick Ndomokong Suh. It wasn't exactly a big enough spark to help the defense become great. Needless to say, the Lions thought the Offensive Line was next, cause even without a great line Stafford was throwing a great number of touchdowns late last season. So why not add a offensive line to boot. This year Detroit build the line by drafting Center Kristofer O' Dowd, and signing Anthony Collins. So it seems they are looking in the right direction.

It seems like everything is starting to come together faster than people thought. We might be seeing a new era in Lions history unfolding before our very eyes. Franchise QB, Star Wide Out, A defense that is starting to turn fierce at the right moment. A new top dog might be upon us.

Kansas City--Make that 7-0. For the 7th time this season the Lions are victorious. And the great thing is it only took them seven games to get to the win mark. Yeah, we are still undefeated and rolling pretty strong. This time we took our streak of wins to Kansas City to play the Chiefs, who have been a pretty good surprise as well this year. However, the Chiefs struggled to move the ball effectively against the Lions D and suffered a huge loss.

The Lions Defense picked off Matt Cassel three times and shut down Jamaal Charles effectively. "Our rush defense has been great this year. Not a single 100-yard rusher against us, no rushing touchdowns allowed. I got to say I'm happy about this" Jim Schwartz said, while addressing the media. Effective is right the Lions rush d is ranked 1st in the league in terms of yards. While we may be last in passing yards, don't be fooled cause this secondary comes up big in takeaways. Detroit leads the league in interceptions, so you can see why we allow so little points a game.

This game also marked the second appearance of the Lions new 3-4/4-3 mix. "We've been working through both systems and it seems our defense is handling it" Defensive Coordinator Dick LeBeau said. The Lions using the 3-4 was introduced last week versus San Diego, in which they shut the Chargers offense down from getting in the endzone. "I like this system, we are really coming to our own now" Linebacker Julian Peterson said.

The offense looked very much revamped with the return of Kevin Smith. "It feels so good to be back on the field. I got to do my job and help this team win, my mans" Kevin Smith said during the press game conference. Matthew Stafford looked fantastic, passing for 4 touchdown passes, two of them going to Kevin Smith, who lined up in the slot a few times. And we did what we do best, control clock. The Lions held the ball for over 40 minutes, and kept the Kansas City Defense at bay. They sealed the deal with 13 play 7:45 minute drive from the late third to early fourth.

Now that we are 7-0, it may seem like we are a clear cut favorite in the NFC North. We hold a 4 game lead over the Vikings and host the Raiders next week. No disrespect to the Raiders, but the way we are playing I feel bad for the Black Hole.

A Prominent Return?

The 49ers are undefeated going through Week 7. Experts picked them to fail this season, but so far they have been brilliant. The Niners Defense has been excellent. They are third in points allowed with just 15.6 a game. What's scary is their offense is just now coming into their own as of late, so that makes them extra scary. They are looking like a prime candidate for a NFC contender as of now.

Cutler-Marshall Makes Regular Season Return to Denver

Now, it seems like forever since Cutler "whined" his way out of Denver and came to Chicago. Bears fans were happy with this acquisition, they felt they robbed the Broncos, but it seems the other way now. Two years later, Brandon Marshall pulled a Cutler and ended up in Chicago in return for Brain Urlcaher. It seems like they love swapping players. You would think fans would be extremely happy, right? Well, this is not the case. The Denver faithful want Cutler and Marshall to feel pain. They are two wanted men in the Mile High City, and with the way things are looking they maybe have gotten the bad end of the deal. Expect tons of jeers and obscene signs in the stands during this game.

Will the Streak End in the Black Hole?

Oakland--(AP)Detroit is now 7-0, and by the look of things they don't want to lose anytime soon. So I believe the Raiders are in for a little trouble with these Motor City Kitties.

The Lions have the best rush defense in the league and they have shut down the rushing of many premier backs, including the leagues leading rusher Stephen Jackson. They haven't allowed a single rushing TD all year. So this will be a real test for them. The Raiders boast the leagues 3rd best rushing attack, behind the two New York teams. So is this the week where the Lions defense gets possibly exposed?

The Raiders problem has been scoring though. Despite having such a great rushing attack, the passing game has not been there. They have dropped 4 in a row and do not look good going into playing the Lions. So they have to play good on all fronts on offense if the want to beat the Lions. Hopefully the Raiders defense can slow down that powerhouse Lions offense long enough to put their offense in a good position to win it.

Really great job with this. Mind if I use those team logos in my Cardinals journal? I'm going to look for some other option than just taking them straight from yours, but I thought I'd ask just in case.

And thus a newbie reveals himself! I haven't been following OS for too long so I never noticed anything like these posted. But I guess I'll be using these for my 'chise as well then.
