Thanks man =). I'm looking for ways to make it better, but I'll save it for the regular season. I used most of the ones on here for inspiration though.

Lions Eying A Few Corners

Aaron Smith, Detroit Free Press

DETROIT--In a attempt to rebuild the secondary, the Lions are eying a few young Corners. Currently the Lion Cornerback's of Chris Mcalister (34), Anthony Henry (34), and Phillip Buchanon are all over 30 years old. With this I think they want to go younger and possibly a little cheaper to clear room for some possible O-Line/D-Line prospects.

Photobucket

The two possibilities the Lions are checking are Zackary Bowman (26), a 6'1 3 year pro Corner. In his two seasons in Chicago he had 40 Tackles and 5 Interceptions. They are also looking at a possibility in Mike Mickens (24). Mickens is a 2 year reserve from Indianapolis, he didn't play a single down during his rookie year, but registered 2 Interceptions in a few downs last year. So the Lions must see some potential in him to be a great addition to a torn secondary.

Also the Lions are looking to pick up breakout Wide-out Steve Smith (formerly of the New York Giants)

TRADE ALERT
The Brown and Texans have swapped rights for their Draft picks (Joe Haden and Dominique Franks). After much speculation of Franks wanting to play to not play in Houston.

--Seahawks have traded there 3rd Round 6th pick for the Cowboys 3rd Round Pick and 5th Round Pick.

The first round of the 2011 draft only saw 1 QB being taken, and it came toward the end of the round. This draft should be known as the the "Florida Draft" as seven players from UF were taken in the first round, three of which were the first three taken. Many Lineman and Secondary players were taken, especially after how impressive some of them have been in the combine. The first round saw only one trade and that was the Browns and Texans swapping Corners. First round draft pick Emmanuel Moody is the first HB selected overall since the 1995 NFL Draft where the Bengals selected Ki-Jana Carter (considered a bust). Hopefully for the Buc's sake Moody is the real deal. "I'm blessed to get this opportunity, this is like a once in a billion thing in life....Getting selected first doesn't change my ego or anything, I'm just ready to get out there and run for my team, and maybe win a Chip one day."

The Lions stacked on draft picks and took several Lineman on both sides of the ball. Jim Schwartz and crew seemed hard on getting Stafford protection, and getting some people to put pressure on the oppositions QB. Many thought this draft would be a secondary draft for the Lions, but they stacked up on Corners during the Free Agency period and didn't take any secondary players. It looks like the Lions might have gotten a few steals as well. Fullback Owen Marecic was projected to be a first round pick, but dropped all the way to 5th, this back has great intangibles for a often overlooked position. They also got TE Aaron Hernandez from Florida, he was also projected to go higher but dropped to the 3 round, and the Lions jumped at the TE to get another good pick. The only question that lies is how will the Lions handle the signings of the rookies. They are spending a lot of money on players and have around $10.00M in CAP as of now. We'll see how this plays out.

As the Lions prepare to sign the draft picks the have a special announcement to make to the press.
