BENGALS TRADE QB CARSON PALMER

Cincinnati, OH. -- After two straight disappointing & injury plagued seasons, the Cincinnati Bengals have released former no.1 overall pick in the 2002 NFL draft; quarterback Carson Palmer.

Palmer had an outstanding career in Cincinnati, but it comes as no surprise after the past few seasons that the Bengals are in a win now mode, and have traded the star QB to the Seattle Seahawks for 2nd, 3rd & 6th round draft picks.

An emotional Head Coach Marvin Lewis said in a press conference today that it was "the hardest decision I've ever made when it comes to football. Carson is a great friend & I'm still having trouble dealing with the loss." Lewis then went on to say "however it was a business decision, as harsh as it may sound, the Bengals, the city of Cincinnati & our players need to win.. now. I look forward to the Draft, and the 2010 NFL season."

A message was left for Palmer and his agent, but to no response yet.

Re: "Fight Back - Sacrifice" - A Cinncinati Bengals Franchise

-- Simmed Pre-Season --
------------------------

WEEK 1 PREVIEW
World Champion Saints @ Bengals (CBS)
Coming fresh off a first Super Bowl win, the New Orleans Saints go head-to-head against a Bengals team looking to rebound once again after another disappointing wild card playoff loss, this time to the Jets.

The Bengals traded QB Carson Palmer after another injury plagued season, in hopes of starting a spark to get the team off to a fresh & right path this year.

Good-bye Palmer, hello Tucker. The Bengals drafted QB Adam Tucker with their first-round selection in the 2010 draft. He was being known as the 2nd best QB of the draft, behind Corey Bobo (drafted by Broncos).

It remains to be seen if the Bengals choice of QB swapping was a good one, however they have their hands full with the world champions in Week 1's kick-off game Thursday night.

Sunday Night Football (NBC)
Buffalo @ Miami
It's a battle of AFC East rivals as the Buffalo Bills travel to Miami to take on the Dolphins. Neither team made it to the playoffs last year, and both hope the tide shifts from New England & New York to Buffalo & Miami as the underdogs of the AFC East meet.

T.O. & Dick Jauron have both been given the boot by the front office & the team looks to make their fans proud after disappointing seasons for the past few years.

Miami scored big in the offseason landing LB Karlos Dansby & WR Brandon Marshall. Marshall is all smiles in Miami & Bill Parcells hopes Chad Henne can now air it out while Ronny Brown & Ricky Williams score big on the ground.

Monday Night Football (ESPN)
Baltimore @ Cleveland
Not too many fans of sports have suffered more than those of Cleveland, Ohio. An upset in the NBA playoffs, and well.. the Browns. They take on the 'original' Browns when the Ravens come to town & this is ALWAYS a hard-hitting, smash-mouth, i-don't-like-you affair.

A battle of the Good & the Ugly, however the Browns are known for their 5 game win streak to close out last season. Under Mike Holmgren, the Browns are clearly in a rebuilding process, however anything can happen on any given sunday, so who knows what 2010 holds for the dog pound.

Other Games
Colts @ Texans
Broncos @ Titans
Redskins @ Vikings
Giants @ Packers
Cowboys @ Falcons
Rams @ Eagles
Panthers @ Steelers
Lions @ Jets
Buccaneers @ 49ers
Chiefs @ Chargers
Cardinals @ Seahawks
Jaguars @ Raiders
Bears @ Patriots
