Garrett to leave program

BATON ROUGE - Backup quarterback Chris Garrett is transferring from LSU, head coach Les Miles announced on Friday.

Garrett, who just completed his first year with the Tigers, would have been a redshirt freshman for LSU in 2010. Garrett, a native of Tupelo, Miss., didn't see any game action in his first year at LSU in 2009.

"We wish Chris the best," Miles said. "There are no hard feelings. Chris is a good kid. We hope he has success wherever he ends up."

Many LSU fans were pegging Garrett as the QB of the future for the program. This move leaves LSU with only Jordan Jefferson, Jarrett Lee, and incoming freshman Zach Lee as the only scholarship quarterbacks on the roster. With Jefferson and (J) Lee being juniors, and Zach Lee currently deciding between a career with the MLB's LA Dodgers and playing both football and baseball in college for LSU, Les Miles needs to grab some QB recruits this season to shore up a shaky situation in his offense.

There has been a large outcry from LSU fans when it was learned that Miles had released Garrett from his scholarship. Popular LSU fan website, tigerdroppings.com, has already reached 32 pages on the Chris Garrett topic.

I am following, wanted to comment on this picture real quick, I played against Spencer this past year, go figure that is at my field also. So that is pretty cool seeing as I am friends with the guy in black and have played Spencer, let me just say he is an absolute beast. Can't wait to see him in action in this dynasty.
