Game Notes

What a game?! The Game! It's named correctly! The beginning of the game looked like it was going to be all Buckeyes, ending the first quarter with a 17-0 lead. Michigan came out in the second quarter, and scored 14. The Buckeyes had scored 7, but on the kickoff after a Michigan touchdown, with one second left in the half, the Bucks took the kickoff back for a touchdown, leaving the score at halftime 21-14.

In the third quarter, Michigan scored 10 unanswered points. Looking like a completely different team than earlier in the day.

The fourth quarter, Michigan scored a touchdown, and then Ohio State did the same. Down by one touchdown, Michigan ate up clock, and scored a 13 yard touchdown pass, with 16 seconds left. Michigan then held Ohio State, with Ryan Van Bergen hitting Terrelle Pryor with two sacks.

In overtime, Michigan continued looking dominant, stopping Ohio State fast, forcing them to kick a field goal. After that, Michigan kept the ball on the ground, with Vincent Smith, working their way down the field, and scoring a 3 yard touchdown for the victory.

Michigan didn't look right in the first quarter. Something was off, but I'm not sure what. They just didn't play like they had been playing all year. I assume many of the fans in Ohio Stadium thought the game belonged to Ohio State. But Michigan showed persistance, kept their minds set on the prize, went out, produced, and won the game. The Wolverines haven't handed the Buckeyes a loss since the 2003 season, so this has to feel nice.

Now it's on to a bowl game, and I can only expect, the Big Ten Championship!

Re: Go Blue: Taking Michigan Back to Glory (NCAA Football 11)

That was by far, the most exciting game I've ever played on any game, any console. When the Bucks took off 17-0, I figured it was over. I figured we had a possibility of getting blanked. But I just kept on trying, throwing A LOT. When it became 31-24 I knew we had a shot. We were gaining momentum.

They scored in the fourth, and I knew I needed to run the clock out, and score. So I did just that.

Held them in OT, and all I needed was a touchdown. Still nervous, and very excited, I decided to run the ball, and ended up punching it in.

Tate Forcier broke the Michigan record for most passing yards in a game this game, with 392.

Interesting notes, everytime I attempted to return a punt, they tackled me, and I fumbled. Very aggravating.

When I won it, I literally jumped up and down, and yelled.

Michigan will play Appalachian State in 2011

It has been announced today, that the University of Michigan will host Appalachian State to a game in the 2011 season. Michigan played Appalachian State in 2007, and although the Wolverines were big favorites to win, Appalachian State pulled the upset. Some called it the upset of the decade.

In 2011, Michigan will look to finally get their "payback", as they will play Appalachian State again, in the Big House.

Ryan Van Bergen wins the Chuck Bednarik Award, the Bronko Nagurski Award, and the Lombardi Award!

After an incredible season, Ryan Van Bergen was awarded the Chuck Bednarik, Bronko Nagurski, and Lombardi awards!

Ryan recorded 41 total tackles, 33 solo, 8 assisted tackles, 21 tackles for a loss, and 17 sacks (which is a Michigan single season record). He also recorded one interception, which he took back 95 yards for a touchdown.

Van Bergen is a Junior at the University of Michigan, and many feel his time with Michigan has come to an end after the Rose Bowl. But I'm sure Coach Rodriguez will be pleading for Van Bergen to stay his last year, and potentially help Michigan to a National Championship.

Game Notes

Was there any doubt at all? Michigan came into this game off of a huge high, their overtime win over Ohio State. The game began as a defense battle, as so many seem to do. Michigan scored first in the second quarter.

Halftime, it was only a seven point game. But in the third, Michigan scored 14 unanswered points, making the score 21-0. Washington fought back to score a touchdown in the fourth quarter, but so did the Wolverines.

Michigan has won themselves the Rose Bowl, the Big Ten Championship, and a deserving top rank in the BCS.

Next year, Michigan will definitely be looking to repeat as the Big Ten Champs, but they will also be looking to capture their first National Title since 1997.

Michigan's season this year has been somewhat of a surprise, as most didn't figure they'd even have a winning season. Just goes to show you, that when players are hungry, and want it, anything is possible.
