This should be a decently easy game for MSU, but no one is easy too beat in the Big Ten. The season is winding down and a loss right now would be devastating for the Spartans. As long as Caper gets going on the ground and Cousins continues to play good we think the Spartans will be ok.

Review:
The Spartans squeak out a win, with some luck. This was a game that was too close for comfort for MSU fans, thinking this would be a blow out. It was far from a blow out, as MSU had trouble stopping the pass attack of Purdue. Luckily for MSU the poor weather conditions made the Purdue kicker miss a 23 yard field goal with 49 seconds left and all the Spartans had to do was take a couple QB kneels. Up next PSU!

B. Cunningham(#3) catches this 12 yard pass for the Spartans first score.

L. Caper(#22) runs over A. Evans(#32) to get into the end zone from 17 yards away.

C. Wiggs misses this 23 yard field goal late in the 4th Quarter to let MSU just squeak by 14-13.

Re: Football is Life...The Rest is just Details. (NCAA 11)

Battle for the Land Grant Trophy

Since Penn State joined the Big Ten Conference in 1993, the Nittany Lions and Spartans have played each other for the trophy in the last week of conference play. The trophy, designed by former Michigan State coach George Perls, features pictures of Penn State's Old Main and Michigan State's Beaumont Tower. Penn State won the most recent meeting 4214 on November 21, 2009, at Spartan Stadium. Currently, Penn State leads the overall series 14121, though many of the games were played prior to Penn State joining the Big Ten and are thus not included in the trophy count. Michigan State has not won at Beaver Stadium since 1965.

Michigan State University and Penn State University are the nation's oldest land-grant universities, hence the name for the trophy. In 1955 on the 100th year anniversary of the founding of the land grant system, Michigan State and Penn State were commemorated on a U.S. postage stamp honoring the "First of the Land-Grant Colleges". These two universities were the first ever universities to be placed on a U.S. postage stamp.

They are also the most recent additions to the Big Ten. Fellow Big Ten members Illinois, Minnesota, Ohio State, Purdue and Wisconsin are also land-grant schools

This is the last regular season game for MSU and it is one of the most important, this is the difference between playing in a top notch bowl or a low grade bowl. This is gonna be a tough game for MSU, as they have to travel to the 2nd toughest stadium to play at. The first thing they need to do is establish the run and score quick to take the crowd out of it, then, Cousins and the defense need to step up.

Review:

This was a thrilling game for MSU fans and a disappointing one for PSU fans. This is the first time since 1965 that the Spartans have marching to Happy Valley and won. It was all possible thanks to K. Cousins and his performance under-pressure, also the defense stood strong after letting PSU take a 14-0 lead at halftime. Then, K. Cousins went to work and march his team down the field twice three times, scoring two touchdowns. But his most important play came with 10 seconds left when Cousins felt the pressure getting to him, he stepped up in the pocket and took off for a 1st down inside Penn State's 30.

M. Dell(#2) catches this 3 yard pass to put the Spartans on the board late in the 3rd quarter.

B. Cunningham(#3) catches a short pass and then makes some people miss to take it to the house for 80 yards.

D. Conroy(#4) makes this clutch kick with time running out to give the Spartans the close victory.

Nice close wins man. I'm hoping next season you'll have some more games where you can relax while playing them. This year for you, it's been all about close wins...nail biter finishes.

I know that's gotta wear you out man.
