J. Fry(#35) sets the tone for the defense after picking off a D. Edwards pass, setting up a quick touchdown by the Spartans.

B. Prince(#13) makes a terrific catch in the end zone, putting the Spartans up 17-0. Blake Prince had his second 3 touchdown game of the season while breaking B.J. Cunningham's school reception record with 85 catches this season.... Can you say Heisman?

B. Mills(#10) has been pretty quiet this year after all the hype from the coaches about his speed, but he finally showed what the coach's were talking about. On this 86 yard kick off return nobody even touch this young man and watching him pull away from the pack made it look like they were standing still.

Re: Football is Life...The Rest is just Details. (NCAA 11)

Battle for the Land Grant Trophy

Since Penn State joined the Big Ten Conference in 1993, the Nittany Lions and Spartans have played each other for the trophy in the last week of conference play. The trophy, designed by former Michigan State coach George Perls, features pictures of Penn State's Old Main and Michigan State's Beaumont Tower. Michigan State won the most recent meeting 24-17 on November 22, 2014, at Beaver Stadium. Currently,MSU leads the overall series is 16151, though many of the games were played prior to Penn State joining the Big Ten and are thus not included in the trophy count.

Michigan State University and Penn State University are the nation's oldest land-grant universities, hence the name for the trophy. In 1955 on the 100th year anniversary of the founding of the land grant system, Michigan State and Penn State were commemorated on a U.S. postage stamp honoring the "First of the Land-Grant Colleges". These two universities were the first ever universities to be placed on a U.S. postage stamp.

They are also the most recent additions to the Big Ten. Fellow Big Ten members Illinois, Minnesota, Ohio State, Purdue and Wisconsin are also land-grant schools.

M. Simon(#49) recovers a fumble early in the 1st quarter. The Michigan State defense played lights out all game, lead by this second year freshman who is quickly becoming the heart and soul of this defense.

B. Prince(#13) had a good game, catching 10 balls for over 100 yards, but for the first time this season did not record a touchdown grab.

N. Walker(#25) runs up the middle for a gain of 13 yards. The key to the win for Penn State was stopping the Spartan's running game and making them one dimensional on every down.
