Thanks. The updates won't continue at this rate for long, but I'm just having so much fun with this game now and I have nothing to do today. As I look at how many games I've gone through in such a short time, it makes me think I have no life, though, LOL...

Thanks. I kind of feel bad about it since I don't feel it's too realistic, but it's in the past now. In the latter stages of the LSU game, I feel like I finally got the sliders close to right.
The eye of the tiger couldn't stop WVU this evening. You don't ordinarily think that being outgained 436-313 will result in a victory, but when you score two defensive touchdowns off of pick-sixes, then it certainly enters the realm of possibility. That's exactly what happened tonight as both Keith Tandy and J.T. Thomas returned interceptions for touchdowns in the Mountaineers' 30-23 victory over LSU in Death Valley.
LSU's offense moved the ball quickly and efficiently, particularly in the second half. However, after falling behind 20-0 midway through the third quarter, the lead was just too large to make up. LSU scored 23 points in the final quarter-and-a-half, but the Mountaineers still managed to escape with a seven-point margin of victory.
Shawne Alston performed admirably today as he shredded the LSU defense to the tune of 158 yards on only 22 carries. Geno Smith struggled in his first road start at a BCS stadium as he only threw for 110 yards, but Alston stepped up to the challenge, which lessened the load on Smith.
With the victory, the Mountaineers improve to 4-0 and will clash with a currently undefeated South Florida team in Morgantown in three weeks after having two bye weeks. South Florida is fresh off a 33-21 victory over Florida in Gainesville and is looking very good this season.
The North Carolina State Wolfpack upset the Virginia Tech Hokies 28-24 this afternoon in Raleigh. NC State never led until 14 seconds remained, but those 14 seconds were all that mattered.
The Wolfpack trailed 24-14 with four minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. And, after a score, the Pack still trailed by a field goal with the ball at their own 30 yard line and under a minute left. Then magic struck.
Russell Wilson had been struggling the majority of the game, only completing four of his first 12 passes against a strong Virginia Tech defense. But he stepped up big on the final drive. The junior quarterback shredded the Hokies defense on the final drive and hooked up with Darrell Davis from 12 yards out to give NC State a 28-24 edge with 14 seconds remaining.
Virginia Tech's Tyrod Taylor thew up a Hail Mary as the clock expired, but it fell short as the Wolfpack collected their second win against a ranked opponent in as many weeks.
NC State lost the battle on the box score as the Hokies outgained the Wolfpack 415-355. However, the NC State defense exemplified the "bend-but-not-break" philosophy as, despite giving up so many yards, Virginia Tech only put 24 points on the board.
"This is a huge win for us moving forward," commented head coach Tom O'Brien. Indeed, it is, as it just about guarantees that NC State will go bowling this year, barring a monumental collapse.
It has become clear that Coach O'Brien's NC State team has a flair for the dramatic this season. On a rain-soaked afternoon in Raleigh, his Wolfpack team won their third consecutive game, all of which have came down to the final seconds.
Today, the Wolfpack trailed 14-10 with a minute-and-a-half to go, until Russell Wilson hit T.J. Graham on a 24-yard go pattern for the go-ahead score.
But it still wasn't over. The Boston College Eagles marched right back down the field and had a chance at a 45-yard field goal with time expiring. However, freshman kicker Nate Freese completed his dreadful day with a miss wide to the left. Freese was, in a word, horrific today. His efforts got home a 0-5 kicking performance. Admittedly, the rain and win made things difficult and many of his kicks were from long distance, but his performance, or lack thereof, ultimately cost the Eagles the game.
Boston College outgained NC State 435-287, which would ordinarily make it a pretty easy Eagles victory, but as a result of Freese's poor performance and Boston College's missed opportunities, the Wolfpack were able to eek out a win in the final minutes and move to a surprising 3-0 in ACC play thus far.
James Washington's run to make it 7-0 NCSU in the first quarter:

I hope it happens, too.
It's strange because I'm a few bad plays from being 1-5 and a few good plays against Cincinnati from being 6-0. But I'll take the 5-1 record. More things have gone right than wrong for me this year, fortunately, and a lot of my tougher games are at home, which helps.
