I liked how you linked the game results in the schedule to the posts with the recaps.

Thanks! Makes it easier to look at and sort as the dynasty gets longer.
I'll get in a game tonight, post a mid season report and all that good stuff to make up for a lack of updates so far.

Bruins Outlast Cougars

Strange game leaves fans wondering

AT
Rose Bowl, 3:30 PM. Los Angeles, California. October 8, 2011.
LOS ANGELES, CA - Washington State returned with a little bit of revenge on their mind after a close game against the Bruins last year. This year would be no different, in anyway. The game remained close the whole way through, but the Bruins managed a win in a very topsy-turvy game.
Between the two teams, there were 9 turnovers and the first 3 scores of the game were defensive TDs, 2 of which were WSU's.
UCLA managed to score the game's first offensive TD in the fourth quarter to take the lead after the teams had been tied for more than a quarter's worth of play. Washington State had to run a tough 2 minute drill and were able to get well into UCLA territory with :35 to go, trailing by a TD. However, the Cougars just missed on several occasions deep downfield, and by fourth down, Jeff Tuel was forced into making a bad pass that was incomplete to a wide open Isiah Barton.
UCLA escaped with a 21-14 win. "I haven't seen so many defensive plays in such a short period of time. I'm proud of our defense, for making the plays they did. Our offense is still suspect and even though we showed we could effectively move the ball at the end, it still didn't come out the way I had hoped. Let's hope for better results next time." Coach O'Hern's Cougars fall to 4-2, 1-2 in the Pac-10. UCLA improves to 5-1, 4-0 in the Pac-10.
WSU will finally return home after a long road trip, as they host the Trojans of USC.

Coach O'Hern's Mid Season Review
Through our first 6 games, it hasn't been as rough as I originally thought it would be. We already matched last year's win total of 4, and we're only half way through the season. That said, the past several games have been very tough. Turnovers are still an area that we need to work on, as we are able to force TOs but at the same time, we tend to give the ball right back in unnecessary situations.
I'll take the blame on this one, there have been several instances of poor playcalling. If we can execute better offensively, we have a great chance of seeing a bowl game this year. Our defense has played well, but if your offense can't produce, there's only so much that the defense can do. I'll see to it that we improve for the second half of this year. It doesn't get any easier down the road, every game matters, every play, every second. I'll see you all out on the field. Thank you.

Fun chise to follow, I have a question though...what is your team's grade overall in 2011 on Offense and Defense?

Who did Boise State lose too. I see that dropped from #5

Tough loss to the Bruins, lets rebound with a big win...

When I get a game in today, I'll let you know Potatoes, but I don't think it changed much from the 2010 team. I took a small break from the game the past few days, now I'm ready to get back into the action.

If I remember correctly, Boise State lost to Nevada, I was surprised when I saw they lost(even though Nevada is a good team)
We've got USC next so I don't know what to expect, the Trojans have struggled this year so I'm hoping to pull out a win here. Nonetheless it will be a tough game.

Re: Washington State Cougars(NCAA 11)

Cougars Eat Trojans Alive

vs
Martin Stadium, 6:00 PM. Pullman, Washington. October 15, 2011.
PULLMAN, WA - It was USC who came knocking this time at Martin Stadium, as a packed house was hoping for a big Cougar victory. The 3-2 Trojans have been up and down so far this season, but that didn't mean they didn't have the chops to beat WSU. The game stayed very close up through the early stages of the fourth quarter. Both teams' defenses were on their top game, as neither offense was able to put points on the board until WSU kicked a 23 yard field goal late in the second quarter.
WSU would never lose that lead, but early in the fourth quarter it almost seemed so. USC was driving, they were inside the 10 yard line, with a third down situation requiring them to get to the 1 or score. USC QB Matt Barkley threw a bad pass under pressure into the endzone, which was picked off by Aire Justin, who took it 104 yards for a TD to put the Cougs up 17-7. Barkley would throw 3 interceptions, all in the fourth quarter.
Justin would intercept a pass later to seal the game away for WSU. The very next USC drive, Barkley threw another interception to Daniel Simmons. The play after that, backup HB Logwone Mitz found open field for 32 yards and paydirt.
WSU came away with a very impressive win 24-7 over the Trojans. Once again, WSU proves by winning in the turnover column, they can effectively win the game altogether. The Cougars improve to 5-2, 2-2 in the Pac-10. They are one win away from becoming bowl eligible for the fist time since 2003.
