It's not a move I had thought about until the preseason. He wasn't playing well, so I picked up Dixon and Dixon played decent. Suddenly, I'm thinking, maybe Vince isn't ever going to improve. We'll see how it works out. I've now got five picks in the first four rounds (no third rounder in Tuck trade) to play with. We'll see what happens.

ESPNews.com Breaking News Report

PATRIOTS MOVE FOR BIG NAME RUNNING BACK
Tim Graham Reports

It's official. The rumors had been that Bill Belichick and the Patriots needed a big name running back to make a push for a Super Bowl. After talks throughout the league, wasting a first round draft pick on a dud of a back, and taking chances with average players such as Michael Bush, the Patriots needed something big. That something big comes by the name Stewart, Jonathan Stewart. The same Jonathan Stewart that plays with the Carolina Panthers. After discussions opened, it was reported that Carolina was requesting at least a first and third for the back who had begun to not see as many snaps as he did in 2009. Instead, the Patriots worked out a deal that sent a first and fourth round pick along with young receiver Julian Edelman to the Panthers for Stewart.

Unfortunately, no one was available from either organization to comment on the trade. But a quick phone interview with Patriots owner Bob Kraft said the deal was done, pending a physical.

Official Trade
Patriots Receive

HB Jonathan Stewart [90 OVR, A POT, 24 Years Old]

Panthers Receive
2012 Round One Draft Pick
2012 Round Four Draft Pick
WR Julian Edleman [82 OVR, B POT, 25 Years Old]

Gamer's Note
| The second blockbuster. With the way Madden does the two back setup, one never seems to get enough snaps. Stewart would inevitably fall into nothing sitting there. This way he goes to a huge team, big names around him, etc... I thought about moving Williams instead, due to age, but figured he was more of the established back, thus Stewart may be a better choice.

Re: The Music City Miracle [Titans Madden 11]

Titans Outscore Opponents 84-24, Improve to 6-1
Paul Kuharsky Reports

No Vince Young? No problem. Dennis Dixon has thrown seven touchdowns to just two interceptions over the last two games [three weeks] as the Titans improve to 6-1 on the season after dismantling the Miami Dolphins, 49-24, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 35-0. Although Dixon has looked shaky at times, he hasn't been stirred yet now that he's started three games with the Titans after the shocking Vince Young trade. "I've just gone out there and done what I've needed to do. We're winning games, we're playing well. I'm just happy to be a part of it," said Dixon in a post-game press conference after the Buccaneers game. Dixon's favorite target? Number 18 Kenny Britt. Britt is quickly emerging as one of the top tier receivers in the league and over the last two weeks has five touchdowns on just thirteen receptions and over 250 yards receiving. He leads the league in touchdowns [eight], average yards per catch [20.6], and is fifth in yards [599].

Defensively, the Titans have come alive as well. Gerald McRath is coming alive and proving to be a leader being all over the field racking up interceptions, tackles, forced fumbles, and fumble recoveries. The defensive line is peaking at just the right time as well and this team, at 6-1, is looking to be one of the top teams to look at come playoff time. They face a tough test as the second half of the season starts when they host the 5-2 Houston Texans, whom they topped in a shootout, 42-35, roughly a month ago. The big positive though, Justin Tuck is back after his injury and the Titans are healthy. We'll see how this run continues and if the Titans can keep it alive.
