GAME PREVIEW

Photobucket VS Photobucket

CHAPLE HILL, NC:

It seems things never change for the Tarheels, as yet again they find themselves going up against a Top 25 team. This time it will be the Miami Hurricans ranked #17 in the Nation. The Hurricans offense ranked #4 is lead by JR RB Larry Keller (883 yds, 4.96 YPC) and SR QB Drew Swenson (2255 yds passing, 23 TD. There is so much talent on this offensive unit it will be very hard for the Tarheels to match up.

The Hurricans defense ranked #41 nationally is lead by SO OLB Tim Russell (48 tks, 1 Sack, 1 Int) and Sr CB Larry Woodruff (5 ints). Injurys could play a part with the defense as the unit is banged up, and the depth is thin.

Carolina is missing key players on both sides of the ball, with WR West, CB Dotson, G Brown, and MLB Neal all missing this weeks game. The Offense once again will try and start FR QB Tim Donaldson who has recoverd from an illness last week. The coachs are still concered about FR QB Richard Preston that he is taking too many sacks and are looking for more mobility out of Donaldson.

The Defense missing Dotson, will have their hands full trying to cover the WRs of the Hurricans. It is hoped that the defensive line can force a couple of bad throws and maintain the run. If they can do this...and keep it a close, they could have a chance.

Re: Building of a Dynasty --North Carolina Tarheels

SPECIAL TEAMS AGAIN DOWN HEELS

22 - 19

Photobucket VS Photobucket

CHAPLE HILL, NC:
Miami need a break down 19-15 with just little over 2 mins to play, when John Colman broke open down the sidelines for a 99 yd punt retune to lift Miami over Carolina. Carolinas defense came to play, shutting down for the most part the Hurricans powerful offense. And with the Offense finding ways to make plays it looked as if the Heels would pull off the upset. At the end of the 1st qtr it was all even at 6 as neither team could find the endzone. But in the 2nd after the Miami had to settle for another FG. Carolina took the next series driving the length of the field when RB W. Bostic made his way in from 13 yds to make it 13 - 9. Each team added another FG, but Carolina felt good with its 16 -12 halftime lead.

UNC again opened the scoring in the 3rd getting another FG to go up 19 -12. Once again the Carolina defense held as Miami had to settle for another FG to cut the lead to 19-15. Both teams defenses had key stops in the 4th each stopping drives getting turnovers. Miami again made a stop forcing Carolina to punt, needing a return, Coleman fielded the ball at the 1 and was off to the house to give Miami the lead, and the game. Carolina was stopped on downs to end the gam.

How many times has this happened. I am lost for words, and this lost has hurt. Having the game in hand, sitting back helpless knowing there is nothing you can do. I will be looking for another special teams coach next year. I think I have gave up 5 TD's by KO, or punt....just can't take it anymore.

Re: Building of a Dynasty --North Carolina Tarheels

CHAPLE HILL, NC:
The North Carolina Tarheels have an off week. It couldn't come at a better time as little injurys are starting show up more and more. Hopefully we can get some of our starters rested and ready to finish up the season. West (WR) and Brown (OG) look to return to the lineup next week. On the defensive side we should get Neal (LB) back....Dotson (CB) is likely to miss the rest of the year.

Re: Building of a Dynasty --North Carolina Tarheels

GAMEDAY BREAKDOWN

Photobucket VS Photobucket

SITE: Kenan Stadium, Chaple Hill NC

CAPACITY: 60,000

SERIES HISTORY: UNC leads the short series 1-0 after last years last second FG to give the Tarheels a 27 -24 victory over the Jackets. Georgia Tech had close to 200 yds rushing in that game, but turnovers kept the Heels close, and gave them a shot at the final FG.

LAST WEEK: Both teams are coming off Open weeks. In the Yellow Jackets last game, the Jackets had an easy 41-29 rout of Duke. The Jackets rushed for over 200 yds while holding Duke to 39 yds on the ground. Carolina's last game was a defeat to Miami 22-19 due to the breakdown of the special teams. The defense played outstanding holding the high powered Hurricans out of the endzone.

THE STAT SHEET: Georgia Techs offense: 10th overall (468 ypg), 20th rushing (182 ypg), 35th passing, (285 ypg), 9th scoring (33 ppg) Georgia Techs defense: 76th overall (382 ypg), 22nd rushing (103 ypg), 83rd passing (278 ypg) Carolinas offense: 34th overall (407 ypg), 77th rushing (116 ypg), 29th passing (291 ypg) Carolinas defense: 48th overall (346 ypg), 35th rushing (112 ypg), 32nd passing (233 ypg)

INJURY UPDATE:
GT: QB Louis Coley - Questionable (Foot), RB Raymond Bryant - Questionable (Forearm), OG Gary Motley - Probable (Hand), FS Scott Dodge - Probable (Elbow), SS Michael Cook - Probable (Elbow)

UNC: WR Martin West - Probable (Back), C Joseph Green - Probable (Kidney Infection), SS Mark Glass - Out (Patella), CB Jason Dotson - Out (Ankle)

MATCHUPS TO WATCH:

GA TECHS RB's VS UNCs RUN DEFENSE:It might be a tall task for the Carolinas defense to contain GA Techs backs. First Down will be key factor, if UNC can force Tech into 3rd and long.

MOORE VS YELLOW JACKETS FRONT SEVEN: Carolina haven't been able to consistently run the football all season so there's no reason to believe they will do so Sat. Still, Carolina will be counting on Moore to carry the load.

CAROLINAs WR VS JACKETS CBs: With both safetys banged up...this could be a good game for the Carolinas wideouts. However, Techs CBs are very experenced and have 8 ints this season.

Re: Building of a Dynasty --North Carolina Tarheels

Congratulations on the grandbaby!

I just now read up on this dynasty and I love how indepth you are and how you present your dynasty. I am not familiar with the game you're using... when was it released and who makes the game?

You are correct in saying anyone can win a national championship within 5 years (I won my second year with Marshall University and I try to take pride in realism). The fact that your game has the more elite feel with more factors in player production sounds like something I would be interested in checking into.
