Re: Unfinished Business: Buffalo Bills Story (Madden 11 Franchise)
Overwhelmed in Oakland
Buffalo dominated every facet of the game in the 41-0 blowout Jason Campbell gets hit by Torrell Troup as he throws for an incompletion. OAKLAND, CA -- It is beginning to look like the Buffalo Bills might have solved their quarterback problems after all. With a 290 yard, 2 touchdown day in which he completed 71% of his passes, new quarterback Matt Leinart had his third consecutive impressive performance. Even more impressive is the fact that he accomplished all of that on only 14 total pass attempts. The same can't be said for his Oakland counterpart, as Jason Campbell threw 4 interceptions and struggled to sustain drives all game. Terrence McGee high-steps into the end zone after his 1st of 3 interceptions The rest of the Buffalo defense continued it's streak of impressive play as well, holding the Oakland backfield to a mere 49 yards on the ground on top of the shut out. "Like I told you last week, these guys are getting better with each passing week," said coach Dick Lebeau. "This defense is going to get us far." Inside linebacker Gary Guyton earned at least one sack for the third straight game, giving him 8 total on the season. Defensive end Dwan Edwards got a sack as well, his first of the year. Dwan Edwards sacks Campbell for his first sack of the season, after tallying 10.5 last year Rookie tight end Torri Bonner had yet another stand-out performance, with two touchdown receptions over 50 yards. His 152 yard game gives him the most receiving yards on the team right now at 691, and makes him a definite rookie of the year candidate along with fellow Bill Khamari Dansby, who only had one catch in the game. Veteran Lee Evans was also kept in check by superstar CB Nnamdi Asomugha, only grabbing 2 receptions for 6 yards. Oakland head coach Tom Cable, who is already under much scrutiny for the team's poor play, lambasted his players in the post-game press conference. "Embarrassing. There's no other way to put it. Our defense couldn't stop Matt [expletive] Leinart, our offense couldn't score a single [expletive] point, Jason Campbell threw more [expletive] passes to Terrence McGee than he did our own receivers... [Expletive] embarrassing," he yelled before knocking over the microphone and storming out of the room. His actions will be under review by league officials and he is likely subject to a fine. The Bills look to keep their 3-game winning streak alive in San Diego this coming Sunday, while Oakland heads to Green Bay to take on the 7-5 Packers in hopes of breaking their 4-game losing streak. Snap Shots Fred Jackson drags Tommy Kelly into the end zone for his first of 2 touchdowns Special teamer Logan Ellis forces a fumbler that Lawrence Wilson returned for a TD before it was overturned Chaz Schilens had to temporarily leave the game after this hit from Terrence McGee Rookie Lawrence Wilson levels WR Jacoby Ford with a big hit McGee Moments L-R: McGee grabs his 2nd interception | McGee forces a crucial fumble by Heyward-Bey | McGee intercepts his 3rd pass Box Score NFL Scoreboard - Buffalo Bills (7-4) at Oakland Raiders (4-7)
Telford's Take: Perfect. Excellent play from Leinart, all 3 running backs performed well, Bonner had an explosive game, and our defense destroyed them. Couldn't be happier with this outcome. Let's keep it going |

Re: Unfinished Business: Buffalo Bills Story (Madden 11 Franchise)
Updated: December 6, 2011, 1:49 PM ET 1st Look: NFL Playoff Picture __________________________________________________ By Adam Schefter ESPN.com Now that the Indianapolis Colts have become the first team to clinch a playoff birth in the 2011-12 NFL season, I feel it's appropriate that we take a gander at how the playoffs would look if they started today. HOME-FIELD ADVANTAGE Indianapolis Colts No surprise here, as the usual suspects are coasting to the playoffs with the #1 ranked passing offense and an overall offense ranked 3rd. Also the league leaders in points per game, this offense is going to be hard for anybody to stop. FIRST-ROUND BYE New York Jets The Rex Ryan-ran defense is still dominating the league, holding their opponents to 16.25 points per game, although they've dropped to being ranked 8th. That's an illusion, though, as they're still capable of shutting any weapon down. Mark Sanchez has also really come into his own at QB. DIVISION WINNERS Cincinnati Bengals The Bengals currently find themselves ranked first in defense, powered by their incredible secondary. There are some concerns about their offense, mostly centered around the consistency (or lack thereof) of quarterback Carson Palmer. Kansas City Chiefs The Chiefs got out to a hot start this season, but have fizzled off of late now finding themselves tied with the Denver Broncos for the AFC West lead (they currently have the tie breaker advantage). They'd better step it up if they want to make the playoffs because if the Broncos take the division their chances are slim, as the wild card looks to belong to the East, or possibly North. WILD CARD WINNERS New England Patriots Until the Patriots lose Belichick, Brady, Welker, and Moss, expect them to continue making runs for the playoffs. However, with Welker and Moss getting older, one has to question whether or not their window for another Super Bowl run is rapidly closing. Buffalo Bills The Cinderella story of the 2011 season, Buffalo has been able to maintain their hot start and currently find themselves in line for their first playoff birth since 1999. Of course, who knows how far they'll get if they do in fact reach the playoffs, with the quarterback position still an uncertainty. Of course, they say defense wins championships and their defense is currently ranked 3rd... Who knows what can happen. HOME-FIELD ADVANTAGE Atlanta Falcons The Falcons are in this position thanks to another dominant season from Michael Turner, as it's looking like he will take home the rushing title with ease. If Atlanta keeps winning he might make a good case for the MVP award as well. Be careful, though, don't let Turner's strong season fool you into thinking Matt Ryan is a slouch, as he's playing very well too. FIRST-ROUND BYE New York Giants New York is in a three-way tie for the bye currently, with division rival Dallas Cowboys and the San Francisco 49ers. No particular facet of their game seems to stand out in particular, although if Eli Manning performs in the playoffs like he did in 2007, little else will matter. DIVISION WINNERS San Francisco 49ers The 49ers are a surprise team in a fairly weak division. The biggest question about their ability to be a true title contender hinges on the quarterback position. Charlie Whitehurst has had quite a few impressive performances so far this season, but is he experienced enough to handle post-season pressure? Green Bay Packers Despite a hot-and-cold season from Aaron Rodgers, the Packers have managed to stay at the top of their division. However, the Chicago Bears are hot on their tail same record. Fortunately for Green Bay, the Bears have lost Jay Cutler for the rest of the season and it remains to be seen if Josh Johnson, who came over in a mid-season trade from Buffalo, has the intangibles to lead the Bears. WILD CARD WINNERS Dallas Cowboys Some feel the clock is starting to tick on the Cowboys' Super Bowl chances, others feel they have enough young superstars on both offense and defense that they're going to be in the running for years to come. All I know is, if they don't start getting closer soon, Jerry Jones will likely start going to extreme measures to make it happen. That could be good or bad. New Orleans Saints The Arizona Cardinals, Chicago Bears, and possible the Seattle Seahawks and Carolina Panthers could all make a run at a wild card spot. As it is now, the Saints are the leading contender and certainly have the post-season experience to clinch the spot and make some noise in the playoffs. In Drew Brees they trust. |

Re: Unfinished Business: Buffalo Bills Story (Madden 11 Franchise)
Week 14 Preview
Buffalo Bills (8-4) @ San Diego Chargers (4-8) Forecast: 72° Sunday, December 11, 4:05PM Qualcomm Stadium, San Diego, CA Injury Report Buffalo Bills: [Probable] DE Deontae Knight - Bicep [Doubtful] FB Trip Allen - Thumb [OUT] LG Andy Levitre - Broken Collarbone - 4 weeks [OUT] LB Thomas Howard - Torn Tricep - Out for season San Diego Chargers: [OUT] LB Shawne Merriman - Dislocated Hip - 4 weeks [OUT] LB Shaun Phillips - Torn Tricep - Out for season [OUT] LT Anthony Collins - Fractured Hip - Out for season Keys to the Game
Coverage: Analyst Picks: Dan Marino How about that Matt Leinart?! The Bills are rolling right now and although the Chargers will put up more of a fight than the Raiders, I expect this to be a decisive victory. Boomer Esiason Yeah the Chargers have been such a disappointment this season, but when you lose your two biggest playmakers on defense it's hard to recover. Bills shouldd win this. Bill Cowher Like Lebeau has been saying, this defense just keeps getting better. The Bills are playing lights out and I doubt this banged up Chargers team will serve as much of a speed bump. Shannon Sharpe That was an impressive win last week for Buffalo, they clearly aren't taking this stretch of weak games lightly. They should win this one. James Brown Well I guess this makes it unanimous, the struggling Chargers look like they're just in too deep. |

- Where it says "float: right", the float I believe is what makes the text wrap around it, then you can change right to left or center if you want to change where the picture is positioned. - width: 320px -- Best to set this to whatever the picture's width is, otherwise your box can wind up smaller or bigger than the picture and it will look strange. Let me know if you're able to get it working <*div style="float: right; border: 1px solid #ddd; margin: 5px; padding: 5px; padding-top: 9px; width: 320px; text-align: center;" ><*img src="http://i1197.photobucket.com/albums/aa438/BillsM11/Leinart-1.jpg" /*><*br /><*small>Matt Leinart throws deep to Torri Bonner for a 66 yard touchdown<*/small><*/div> Remove the asterisks |

Re: Unfinished Business: Buffalo Bills Story (Madden 11 Franchise)
I'm Sorry Vince Jackson
Bills hold on to win close game, avoid upset Vincent Jackson makes a one-handed catch for a touchdown in the first quarter. SAN DIEGO, CA -- In what many assumed would be a Buffalo blowout, came a pleasant surprise in the form of a close, defensive battle. Unfortunately for Philip Rivers and the San Diego Chargers, the Buffalo Bills would come out on top thanks to 3 costly interceptions, including one in the red zone late in the 4th quarter. Interceptions, like this one by Leodis McKelvin, ultimately decided the outcome of the game Following the 50-yard field goal late in the 4th quarter by Nate Kaeding, the San Diego defense forced a quick three-and-out to force a Buffalo punt with a respectable 1:53 left on the clock. Dwight Lowery was able to return the punt from Brian Moorman to the San Diego 40 yard line, giving them favorable field position to score a touchdown or field goal to win it. Marcus Stroud reaches Philip Rivers and earns his 10th sack of the season The Bills had a few scares throughout the course of the game, losing safety Lawrence Wilson (knee), as well as linebackers Pisa Tinoisamoa (abdominal strain) and Paul Posluszny (bruised sternum) for periods of time in the game. Luckily, further examinations of each of them revealed no serious problems and the team is confident they will all be able to practice this week and play in upcoming rivalry game against the New York Jets. The Bills and Jets, who lost their second straight game last week at the hands of LeSean McCoy and a 4th quarter Eagles comeback, find themselves now tied for first place in the AFC East. The Patriots fell to 8-5 after being defeated by the Washington Redskins. Snap Shots Vincent Jackson pulls in a catch on the sideline Paul Posluszny gets helped off the field by a member of the training staff Leodis McKelvin jumps Jackson's route for 1 of his 2 interceptions Gary Guyton tosses Philip Rivers to the ground for his 9th sack of the season Fred Jackson dives for the end zone and comes up just short Box Score NFL Scoreboard - Buffalo Bills (8-4) at San Diego Chargers (4-8)
Telford's Take: Well... it wasn't pretty, but at least we got the job done. Just glad we came out of that stretch of games with wins. Hopefully we look sharper against the Jets this week. We need retribution for our last matchup, hopefully Leinart is able to remain composed against this talented secondary and doesn't suffer the same fate that Brian Brohm did. |

Week 15 Preview
New York Jets (9-4) @ Buffalo Bills (9-4) Forecast: 40° Sunday, December 18, 8:30PM Tee Maker Motors Field, Orchard Park, NY Injury Report New York Jets: [OUT] - LB David Harris - Compound Fracture - Out for season [OUT] - RG Brandon Moore - Fractured Hip - Out for season Buffalo Bills: [Probable] - SS Lawrence Wilson (Knee) [Probable] - LB Paul Posluszny (Bruised Sternum) [OUT] - LG Andy Levitre - Broken Collarbone - 3 weeks [OUT] - LB Thomas Howard - Torn Tricep - Out for season Runningback Comparison
Coverage: Analyst Picks: Chris Berman This Buffalo team has been impressively lately but I think Mark "Dirty" Sanchez and the Jets will prevail again like in week 9. Cris Carter I don't know, I think Leinart is going to make better decisions than Brohm did, he's been good at avoiding mistakes, I think the Bills pull it out at home. Tom Jackson This might be one of the toughest games to call all season, the Jets may have lost the last 2 games but they've still got the toughest defense on any given day. Bills are a young, talented team on the come-up, but the Jets have already established themselves as a team to beat. Keyshawn Johnson I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if the Bills were able to win this one, but my gut tells me the Jets take this. I'd hate to be going up against that secondary. Steve Young It's me and you Cris, I like the fire this Buffalo defense has been playing with lately, I say they give the Jets D a run for their money tonight. |
