Re: Unfinished Business: Buffalo Bills Story (Madden 11 Franchise)
one thing to note during pre-season is to make sure to give position battle players rep with both 1st team and 2nd team squads..
ie: if Brian Bohm kept outperforming Colt McCoy/etc ... I hope you tried him out with the 1st team and not just during after halftime.. cuz that means he went up against backups :P
but yea, i like using pre-season to evaluate how players play/etc

Yeah I started Johnson game 1 with McCoy in the 2nd half, McCoy game 2 with Brohm in the second, and made sure to rotate to get a comprehensive idea of who performed best

Early Upset Bills get out to early lead on Pats, never look back
Linebacker Aaron Maybin dives into the endzone to score on his first quarter fumble recovery.
AP - Since 2001, the Buffalo Bills have defeated the New England Patriots once. That's one victory, and 19 losses. After an offseason overhaul, Buffalo came out swinging and jumped to an early lead in the Monday Night Football debut of the 2011 season. The Bills got started early, earning a 14-0 lead in the first quarter that they would never relinquish, holding the Patriots' offense to one touchdown. Head coach Dick Lebeau simply stated, "Defense. All throughout camp, defense was our focus, and they showed up today. Plain and simple."
The lone bright spot in the New England box score was Wes Welker, who was getting open with ease. Unfortunately, when he went down with an injury in the 3rd quarter the Patriots passing attack became abysmal as the Buffalo secondary was able to focus exclusively on shutting down Randy Moss. If Buffalo can continue forcing turnovers on defense while not committing any offensive blunders they could have a surprising season as they start 1-0.
NFL Scoreboard - Buffalo Bills (0-0) at New England Patriots (0-0)
Telford's Take: Couldn't be more proud of our boys. New England is a tough team to open up a season against, on the road no less, but we went out and made a statement today. The Buffalo Bills came to play this year.

Although the Buffalo Bills shocked the world last Monday by upsetting the New England Patriots, most view it as a fluke win and expect the Philadelphia Eagles to bounce back from their week 1 loss in a decisive victory.

Eagles 'Take It Easy' Bills Cruise Effortlessly To Their Second Victory
Fred Jackson jukes by the Eagles' Nate Allen during his 175 yard, 2 TD performance
Philadelphia, PA - It was just one of those days for the Eagles. After jumping out to an early 10-0 lead in the second quarter, Buffalo went on to outscore the Eagles 41-10 throughout the remainder of regulation. The Bills were largely powered by the strong running of the veteran Fred Jackson. "Execution. That's what it comes down to. If we can't go out there, execute, and put the ball in the endzone this is going to be a long season," remarked Philadelphia head coach Andy Reid. Reid, no stranger to criticism, perhaps shoulders some of the blame himself as he kept the offense on the field en route to 4 failed fourth down conversions, granting the Bills excellent field position.
Perhaps the most telling statistic to draw from this game comes courtesy of the "new look" Buffalo defense. Although the Eagles gained more yards in total offense, the Bills defense was able to limit the damage. "They did a great job of stepping up when it mattered, our defense should really start turning some heads this year," stated coach Dick Lebeau. After week 2, the Bills find themselves ranked 11th in total defense and 7th in points allowed. Also worth noting, the 41 points performance by the offense has them ranked first in offensive points per game.
NFL Scoreboard - Buffalo Bills (1-0) at Philadelphia Eagles (0-1)
Telford's Take: I'm pleasantly surprised by the teams performance in this game. I hope they don't become complacent with their blowout victory and fall victim to a blowout themselves next week against the high-powered Texans passing attack. Brohm has done a great job of managing the game and not trying to create too much. Jackson has solidified his role as the starter. Unfortunately, we have yet to see the explosiveness of rookie receiver and preseason standout Khamari Dansby, as he only has one catch in each game thus far. Hopefully the defense helps us keep the streak alive next week.
