Duke's of Hazard | A Coaching Dynasty

WKU to move to FCS

Bowling Green, Ky. -
The end of the Red Towels in FBS football is here and has left a sour taste in the mouth of many WKU fans. A source has confirmed with us that the Western Kentucky football team will resume football play in Colonial Athletic Association, and an unnamed team from the CAA will take their place.

Head coach Willie Taggart was disappointed in the decision made by NCAA officials to return Western Kentucky to the FCS. "I didn't even get a shot to prove to the league that the WKU Hilltoppers were on the rise." Taggart commented. Willie Taggart was brought in to be the head coach of the Hilltoppers as his first coaching job. Taggart played quarterback for WKU in the mid 90's where he started all four years for the team.

Details will be released soon on the team that will replace Western Kentucky.

With the removal of Western Kentucky, the NCAA committee has decided to promote the James Madison Dukes to the FBS and placed them in the Conference USA. The Dukes will look to continue their winning ways, but it will be tough with offensive juggernaut Houston in the same division.

James Madison announces new head coach

Harrisonburg, Va. -
With the recent announcement of the move to FBS, James Madison has some other news to announce. The coaching team has also been shook up, and the Duke's have brought in a new face to lead the team. Asher Jenkins will take over for Mickey Matthews as the head coach of the James Madison Dukes. Mickey will be the new defensive coordinator after leading the Dukes to a 76-46 (.629) record over ten seasons.

Dynasty Format: I'm going to be taking on the roll of Asher Jenkins as the new head coach of the James Madison Duke's football team. My ultimate goal is to move up the ranks of the college football world, whether it be with James Madison or not.

House Rules: The only way I am able to accept an offer to a new school is if I have 3 consecutive winning seasons, winning at least 70% of my games. When recruiting, I can only go after players one star above my current team's prestige. James Madison starts off as a 2*, so I can recruit no higher than three stars. I can only recruit as many players as scholarships that I have.

Sit back, and enjoy guys!

Good luck. Looks like Temple is going to have a horrible time making road trips out West, Hopefully the WAC will treat them better then they have faired in the MAC.

Duke's reporter digs up dirt on new head coach

Harrisonburgh, Va. -
We all have a lot of questions coming into this new football season. One of the biggest questions deals with the new head coach, Asher Jenkins. Now before he took the job here at James Madison, he only had one other coaching job. He coached for his alma mater high school football team for four years, only losing three games and bringing in two state championships in the process. Now in my mind, that isn't really enough of a resume to take over a now D1 football team. To me, it seems that he would have been better off starting off in some local college or something a little smaller scale then this. FBS football aint no joke, and I'm not sure this guy has what it takes to be a quality head coach. Only time will tell, and right now it is all just speculation. We here at James Madison just want to make a good impression in our first season and hopefully Jenkins can do that for us.

But that is where the problem lies. I dug a little deeper into his criminal background and was startled on what I came across. There was an eight month gap from the time he left his previous job to the time he was put in as the new head coach of our Duke football team. When I dug a little deeper, I found out that Asher had been tried with two counts of assault against his former players back at Rolling Meadows High School. Apparently he has a Bobby Knight mentality and things got out of hand one evening after practice. I contacted the school about doing an interview, but they never responded. I'm not sure who hired this guy, but some students are already calling for his head on a platter before he has even coached his first game.

Temple boycotts new conference layout

Philadelphia, Pa. -
With the recent shake up in college football, Temple seemed to get the short end of the stick by being placed in the Western Athletic Conference. With that move they would have to travel cross country to face all of their opponents, forcing the athletic department to drop a ton of money on traveling expenses. The head of the athletic department has requested that the school be removed out of the WAC and placed in the FCS.

With that move, Eastern Washington would take their place and receive an additional 5 scholarships.
