CHARGERS SHAKE UP ROSTER SHORTLY AFTER DEPTH CHART RELEASE
SAN DIEGO, CA - Shortly after the San Diego Chargers released their week 9 depth chart, they made a couple changes to their roster. They have dealt disgruntled WR Lance Moore who wasn't seeing many balls thrown his way back to the New Orlean Saints. With Moore, the Chargers added a 5th round pick and coming back to San Diego will be the Saints 4th and 6th round picks. When asked about the trade Moore stated "I'm finally back in the N.O. I enjoyed the city of San Diego and my team mates, I just felt I was being used to my abilities. When I signed here I was told I would be the #1 option, I just never got any balls thrown my way". Brian Schottenheimer said he has been very impressed in practice by rookie WR Ronald Johnson and it is time to unleash him.
Continuing the moves, they have sent former USC great Matt Leinart to the Houston Texans for their 5th round pick. Not to be short a 3rd string quarterback, the Chargers have signed FA QB Ryan Fitzpatrick out of Harvard and former Buffalo Bill. Fitzpatrick will slide into the 3rd string QB role and is not expected to surpass Josh Johnson anytime soon. Fitzpatrick only signed a 1 year deal for the remainder of the season.
