With his performance over the Ducks in Week 3, RS SR Conner Halliday now leads the nation in Passing Yards.

With 200+ yds in 2 of the first 3 Weeks, RS SR M. Wison now not only leads the Nation in Recieving yards but has also caught the eye of Heisman voters across the nation.

DE M. OWENS NAMED NCAA AND PAC-10 POW!!

With his 7 Tackle 5 Sacks, 1 Force Fumble and 1 Fumble Recovery against BYU, RS SO M. Owens was named the NCAA Defense Player of the Week as well as the Pac-10 Defense POW.

INJURY NOTES

RS SR RB Donte Williams will miss his 3rd straight game this week with a bruised shoulder, scheduled to return in Week 5 against Utah.

RS SR FS Tyrone Duckett will miss the next 5 weeks with a torn pectorial muscle.

WSU MOVES TO #18 IN TOP-25

With the win over #4 Oregon, the Washington State Cougars climbed to #18 in the latest Top-25 Coaches Poll.

COACH DODGE IMPROVES TO 11-10 VS TOP-25

Going into the season, Coach Dodge was 8-10 against Top-25 opponents and 0-3 vs Oregon, but now with the win over BSU,BYU and Oregon to start the year, Coach Dodge has over a .500 record among the nations best.

COACH DODGE LANDS 4 EARLY COMMITTMENTS!!

Over the past 3 years Coach Dodge has quitely brought in players that have transformed WSU from one of the worst teams in the nation, to one Ranked in the Top-25, behind some bigtime transfers, 1 4* DE and a bunch of 3* mid level talent. However after back to back Bowl wins, Coach Dodge not only has gained the interest of some of the best players in the Pacific Northwest and Hawaii, but is starting to catch the attention of recruits in California and around the nation.

I hope. Obviously the schedule gets much easier from here. Cal and Utah were both in the Top-25 in Week 2 but Week 3 losses dropped them from the poll. I was sorta sad. I would've loved playing 5 Top-25 teams to start the year. Then we get a Bye Week in Week 6 and in Weeks 8,9,10 have 3 straight home games.

Right now USC looks to be the best opponent I have left to face (Ranked #9), but UCLA always plays me tough too, and they were in the Top-25 before losing in Week 1.

My biggest challenge right now is the fact that without any home games, I have to have all my recruits visit in Week 8 and 9 so I just hope they don't commit early to somewhere else.

#18 (3-0) @ (0-1)

GAME PREVIEW

Cal started the year ranked #28 in the nation. Afte Week 1/2 Byes, the Bears moved into the Top-25 at #24, but a Week 3 loss to Nevada caused them to fall back out of the Top-25 before their matchup with WSU.

Cal hasn't had alot of success over the past 3 years against WSU or even the nation in that matter, as Coach Dodge has a perfect 3-0 record against them, however that hasn't stopped Coach Jeff Tedford from bring in talent.

WSU is off to their best start in school history at 3-0 with a huge win over #4 Oregon last week. RB Donte Williams however will miss his 3rd straight game, leaving us to believe that the Cougars will go to the air and go often, as they have the #1 Total Offense and #1 Passing Offense in the nation behing the play of QB C. Halliday and WR M. Wilson.


GAME RECAP

JR Paul Smith would get the start at Tailback this week, but it was RS FR Ian Jefferson who would start things going rushing 28 yds to score the opening TD (his 4th of the year) to put WSU up 7-0.

Both teams would fail to move the ball until late in the 2nd Quarter, but again it was WSU who would get on the scoreboard 1st as C. Halliday hit's B. Ratliff on a 38 yd score (14-0), Cal would answer back though scoring on a 25 yd pass from D. Brown to T. Smith (14-7). WSU would get the ball back with 1:41 to play and with 18 seconds to play RB P. Smith would run in from 2yds out to give WSU the 21-7 lead going into the half.

The 3rd Quarter would belong to Cal and their star WR/KR T. Carter. Carter would score from 14 yds out and then after a C. Halliday INT, score on a 80 yd bomb to tie the game (21-21) WSU however would stick to the ground game as P. Smith dives in from 1 yd out to score his 2nd TD of the game making it (28-21) going into the 4th.

Turnovers would plague the Bears in the 4th, as they fumbled the ball 3 times (recovered 1 though) and Brown would throw his 2nd INT of the game, as the Cougars "D" would dominate. Halliday would find TE C. Jackson on a 16 yd TD score and R. Parrish would connect on a 33 yd FG as the Cougars picked up their 4th straight win!!!.
