#8 OKLAHOMA DEFEATS #19 NOTRE DAME IN TOP-25 BATTLE

#8 Oklahoma defeated #19 Notre Dame 45-14. S. Mengal had 16 carries for 64 yds and 1 TD. He also caught 2 passes for 17 yds and a score. WR JeMarcus Green had 3 rec for 79 yds.

#3 ALABAMA FALLS TO #24 ARKANSAS IN SEC BATTLE

The Tide's hopes of repeating to the National Championship game are over as they fall 38-32 to the Razorbacks. TJ Deuce had 10 rec 174 yds 1 TD and RT Ian McLaughlin had 8 Pancakes in the loss.

TEXAS MOVES UP TO #2 AFTER BEATING CAL

With the loss by Alabama, the Longhorns move up to #2 in the AP and Coaches Poll with a 21-16 win over Cal. AJ Hart had 9 rec for 76 yds and 2 TD's. RB Deion White missed the game for personal reasons.

MICHIGAN MOVES UP TO #4 WITH 42-0 WIN.

Michigan dominated Army scoring 29 points in the 1st Quarter as QB T. Cooper toss's 4 TD's. A. Wheeler catuch 6 ball for 89 yds and 2 TD's, well Corey Haas had 6 rec for 65 yds. It was the first game in which both WR's didn't score TD's.

WSU TEAM REPORT

RS FR KEON REED WILL MAKE HIS 1ST CAREER START

With RS SR Justin Roland struggling 59/131 849 yds 5 TD 7 INT!!!, RS FR K. Reed will get his 1st start in Week 5 against Stanford.

Reed is 11/23 for 139 yds 2 TD and 2 INT so far in backup duty.

J. Roland will be the #2 and play if needed.

WSU WILL GO WITH RB COMBO

Coach Dodge liked what he saw with I. Jefferson taking 2/3 of the carries well R. Mayfield took the other 1/3. (17 to 11 ratio last game) Both players are currently Avg over 4.0 yds per carry.

I. Jefferson 42 carries 187 yds (4.4 Avg) 1 TD
R. Mayfield 35 carries 146 yds (4.1 Avg) 3 TD

MCCOY FOR THE RECORD BOOKS?

SR Tim McCoy made some noise as a Freshman catching 33 balls for 532 yds and 3 TD's, he stumbled as a Soph catching just 16 balls for 245 yds and 2 TD's, then had 31 catches for 572 yds and 3 TD's as a Junior. Now a Senior, in just his first 3 games, McCoy had 30 Rec for 464 yds and 4 TD's.

If he stays on pace he will break I. Barton season reception record of 128.

WHERE ARE THE SACKS??

So far the Cougar Defense has recorded just 4 sacks in the first 3 games and none of them are by Lombardi Winner and NCAA Sack Leader M. Owens (16.5 last season). WSU however has recored 6 INT's including a NCAA leading 3 by CB D. Miller. They have also forced 5 Fumbles.

Wow, I was expecting more of a performance from Mr. Ross from Ohio State. He didn't play very well against you, but the OSU running back ran all over you. Was he breaking tackles or were the lanes just that big for 12.1 ypc.

Mr. Mengel looks to be tearing it up at Oklahoma in year 2. What happened to that huge running back that Oklahoma had? Did Shea pass him up or is he not there anymore?

Good luck with Michigan. Looks like they will have the most potent offense you have faced to date with their stud QB, WRs and RBs.

Brown was running over my Middle Linebackers. I play a 4-2-5 primarly and rush from the ends, so they just ran straight up the gut, running over my Linebackers and SS.

I guess when you run for 300+ yards you don't have to pass much. So Ross had a quite day, but for the year has played well.

I will post Up to date Season stats for all the "Herbies" after Week 5.

Mengal is the #1 back, the other big back graduated and yes he has played great so far. I said he reminded me of AP when he signed with the Sooners and so far once he got PT he has shown it.

I need to find some consistant QB play in order for me to have a chance, as you will see from my Stanford Recap, Reed played ok, but not great. I added 5 more QB's to my Recruiting target list in hopes I can land a QB, I can start for the next 3-4 years until I can finally land a 5* guy.

GAME RECAP

WSU used their Running back combo of Jefferson and Mayfield to keep control of the ball and get the ball into the endzone. RS FR K. Reed making his 1st start, didn't get the ball into the endzone but played well enough to help guide the win. His lone INT was with 18 seconds to play in the 2nd half as Coach Dodge looked to make something happen and take a bigger lead into the locker room.

The Defense played great forcing 3 Fumbles, Recovering 1. DE M. Owens still doesn't have a sack, but it was his hit on QB T. Harrell that forced the INT by Linebacker R. Franklin.

Notes

With 10 Rec. SR WR T. McCoy now has 40 Receptions on the year which is a career high for him. He is now ahead of the pace to break Isiah Barton's school record of 128 catches in a season.
