Re: The Career of Bryan Dodge (NCAA11)

#13 (5-2) @ #25 (5-2)

GAME PREVIEW

Coach Dodge is 4-0 vs the Beavers (WSU's biggest Pac-10 Rival besides Washington). Coach Riley is looking to change that this year in Corvallis. The Beavers were ranked as high as #11 in the Polls before losing a heart breaker to Stanford in Week 7 then OSU fell last week to Colorado. Oregon State is lead by RS SR QB M. Perry (2115 yds 19 TD/6 INT)

WSU is coming off a huge win over Cal and is looking to stay at the top of the Pac-10 Conference. The Cougars will look to use their RB Combo of Jefferson and Mayfield to keep the ball out of the explosvie OSU Offense.

GAME RECAP

The Final Score might excite Cougar Fans who didn't see the game, but for those who traveled to Corvallis, the mood wasn't all happy. Star WR T. McCoy quest for the record books is over. The SR WR broke is elbow in the 1st Quarter and will miss the remainder of the season. After scrambling to make changes to the depth chart, Coach Dodge was hit again with the injury bug as FR J. Spencer was forced from the game with back injury, and WR/KR/PR R. Mack was forced from the game as well injuring his shoulder. Down to just 4 active WR, backup TE T. White would enter on 5 WR sets.

With the WR core banged up, WSU would stick to their ground game and Jefferson would deliver with some huge runs. In the 4th Quarter with the game wrapped up, Jefferson would head to the bench and RS FR J. Means would take over carrying the ball 7 times for a 7.7 Avg and with a minute to play would score his 1st career TD.

Again the Defense played great limiting the Beavers in the 2nd half to just 2 1st Downs and none in the 4th Quarter as they forced 4 punts.

COACH DODGE COMMENTS

Obviously Injuries played a huge part in this game for us. Yes McCoy is done for the year. His elbow is shattered, he probably won't play football ever again. Spencer and Mack's injuries are minor and they will be able to play next week against Colorado.

M. Owens was held in check most of the day, but it was his fumble recoverey in the 1st half that helped us take the lead going into the locker room.

I felt like Reed started out cold, but played well at the end. It will be interesting to see how he performs with McCoy out. Obviously SR AJ Brooks now is our new #1 and will be our go to WR, well JR R. Mack will be asked to step it up as well. Of the FR (Meeks,Spencer,Hester) I expect (hope) that 1 of them will as well.

Also look for TE C. Jackson to get more involved in the passing game.

I see Michigan and Florida are back to winning ways.

I'm curious, how are Ohio State and Auburn doing in your season? I know you're a little deeper than I am but both of those schools took a nose dive (Ohio State finished 6-6 and Auburn I think won 2 games and only one single conference game) after my first season.

Thanks. The OSU and Washington wins are huge for my Coach, because that is one of the main recruiting pitches I use is Wins against Rivals, and being how I dumped Idaho this year to fit in the matchup with Idaho, I need to make sure I keep my Rival streak alive.

Ohio State is loaded witih players including 4 Herbies and is currently Ranked #5 in the Nation, but they got their matchup with #2 Michigan in 2 weeks.

Auburn was as high as #7, but just lost this past week to #18 Georgia, so they will drop a few spots.

So far in my dynasty the tradiational power house programs have pretty much stayed the same. Right now BSU is surprising me Ranked #8, but they got a stud QB who is a JR and so he is helping them out. They did have a down year last year though.

Only other team that is surprising me right now is #4 Cincinnati. They are undefeated (9-0) and if they can get my #22 WVU they will be in a BCS Bowl. Maybe even a National Title. #1 Florida still has to play #19 FSU and the SEC Title game, and #2 Michigan still has to face #5 Ohio State and me (WSU)

Re: The Career of Bryan Dodge (NCAA11)

I have my Week 11 game against Colorado played. I am going to try and get it posted tonight or tomorrow before I leave on Vacation for a Week. I am not taking my 360 with me, so I won't have a chance to finish the season until I get back.
