Re: Oregon Ducks (NCAA 11)
I'm glad to see your dynasty with the Ducks back. I remember following the one you did last year (or the year before, can't remember for sure). You always do good work.

Re: Oregon Ducks (NCAA 11)
#1 Oregon @ California California Memorial Stadium Berkeley, CA September 24, 2011 The Great Escape For the second straight year, Ducks escape with their lives in Berkeley BERKELEY, CA - The dream was, for all intents and purposes, dead. The perfect storm of execution errors and a day full of pathetic tackling came to head for the Ducks past the midway point of the 4th quarter in Berkeley, as Cal running back Shane Vereen ran through two arm tackles, exploded into the secondary and shook off one final attempt, rumbling 42 yards for what seemed to be the clinching touchdown, putting Cal up on the #1 Ducks 24-14. But the Ducks showed the type of resiliency and desperation Chip Kelly's been trying to get out of them from the start all season, scoring two touchdowns in the final minutes to stun their rivals from Northern California, 28-24. The comeback was sparked by Nick Aliotti's defense finally stepping up to the plate and forcing a punt, which Darron Thomas promptly turned into a touchdown with an 80 yard bomb to Josh Huff. With under 2:00 to go and two timeouts, the Ducks faced a situation where they needed a three and out at all costs - and one of their prized youngsters delivered, as sophomore defensive tackle Ricky Heimuli blew apart the inside of Cal's offensive line, crushing Vereen for no gain on back to back plays, setting up a 3rd and long, which compelled Cal to pass. The Ducks forced an incompletion, got the ball back with roughly 100 seconds left, whereupon Thomas drove the Ducks 72 yards, culminating with a 23 yard pass to David Paulson with 16 seconds left. "The amazing thing is, Darron's banged up," Chip Kelly said. "They got to him a couple times, knocked him out of the game on two separate occasions, even on our last drive, and he was able to go back in. But he's really sore now, shoulder and elbow. I don't think it's anything substantial, but it's a testament to his toughness and his desire to win that he was able to return when we needed him."

Re: Oregon Ducks (NCAA 11)
Arizona @ #1 Oregon Autzen Stadium Eugene, OR October 1, 2011 Ducks brutalize Wildcats Even without Thomas, Ducks ride Autzen wave past Arizona EUGENE, OR - Last year in frigid, icy conditions at Autzen, the Ducks needed a 4th quarter explosion to put a game Arizona squad away. This time around, with the conditions dry and the sun shining, they wasted no time, even when Darron Thomas's day ended early in the first quarter, steamrolling the shellshocked Wildcats with a 41 point first half, and a 51-14 laugher. Thomas was hit hard on a play where he threw a 4-yard touchdown to David Paulson, and he came up holding his right arm. The ruling was a strained triceps muscle, and considering how he was dinged up against Cal last week, Chip Kelly opted for redshirt freshman Bryan Bennett for the rest of the day. Bennett completed six of seven passes and spent most of the game handing the ball off - Kenjon Barner, Dontae Williams and Lache Seastrunk all went over 100 yards rushing and the Ducks ran for 394 yards as a team. "I wish our O-line was as good at protecting the quarterback as they are at run blocking," Kelly joked afterward. "But in all seriousness, we all know, and they know especially, that they need to do a better job of protecting Darron. He's taken a few licks this year. But I was very confident in putting Bryan in the game, he knows this offense, he knows how to run it, and our running game was clicking today, so overall it was a good effort."
