I don't even remember who the recruited board members are (user name) and completely forgot about them until Harlee brought it up.

Re: The Coaching Legacy of Sam Winters
Tulane Wins Shootout in Overtime Against Rival LSU Baton Rouge, LA -- One word can describe the Tulane Green Wave, resilient. Time and time again last season, Tulane fought back from behind, overcame adversity, and went 14-0 in a dream season. The 2012 Tulane team picked up right where the 2011 squad left off. It looked like Tulane's 17 game win streak was going to come to an end. Behind 48-34 following a 67 yard touchdown run by LSU's Michael Ford with just 1:53 left in the game, things were not looking good for the Green Wave. Needing a quick score, though, backup quarterback Lamar Bryant delivered with a beautiful pass down the sideline to a streaking D.J. Banks. Banks made the catch and scored on a 52 yard play. Tulane was down 48-41 with just 1:23 to go. After an unsuccessful onside kick, Tulane's defense came up big. With the aid of all three timeouts, the Tulane defense stuffed Michael Ford on three straight runs and had the ball back on their own 20 yard line with just 0:59 left in the fourth quarter. Bryant would show incredible poise after completing a series of long passes. Facing a 4th and 3 from the LSU six yard line, Tulane was down to their last hope. Bryant dropped back in the pocket and hit wide receiver Devin Figaro in the back of the endzone, and the game was tied 48-48 and we headed to overtime. Things continued to unravel for LSU in overtime. After moving the ball down to the Tulane 17 yard line, the Tigers were forced to attempt a 34 yard field goal. However, LSU kicker M. Dougherty missed the kick, and Tulane took over needing only a field goal to pull off the miraculous comeback. A Payten Jason 12 yard run on 3rd down to the LSU 10 yard line, set up Tulane kicker Cairo Santos for an easy 27 yard field goal attempt. As if there was any doubt, Santos calmly drained the field goal, and Tulane pulled of the 51-48 upset on the road against their instate rivals. The Tulane win over LSU was their 4th win over their hated rivals in the last 3 seasons. "Holy cow!!!! I don't even know what to say or how to say it. I can't believe this team's resiliency. Unbelievable. Tip your caps to this team. What they just did will NEVER be forgotten. That was a win, game, and comeback for the ages!!!!!" -Tulane head coach Sam Winters Ryan Griffin hits Brent Comardelle for a 27 yard TD to put Tulane ahead 7-0 LSU's Morris Claiborne with a 32 yard pick-six to put LSU ahead 21-7 Brent Comardelle hangs on for a touchdown catch Lamar Bryant hits a streaking D.J. Banks for a 52 yard touchdown to make it a 48-41 game in LSU's favor Bryant hits Devin Figaro to send the game into overtime Craig Loston intercepts another Ryan Griffin pass Cairo Santos game winning field goal in overtime

Re: The Coaching Legacy of Sam Winters
Big win. Do we have a Quarterback controversy in Tulane?

Re: The Coaching Legacy of Sam Winters
Yes, because I like having Bryant back to there to scramble against these better teams since I barely get anytime in the pocket to pass. But Griffin is much more accurate with his passes. I'm starting Bryant next game since I've got Alabama.

Tulane Pulls Off Shocking Upset in Tuscaloosa, 49-45 Ryan Griffin kneels down to cap off a historic 49-45 upset win for Tulane on the road over the 5th ranked Alabama Crimson Tide Tuscaloosa, AL -- Despite going 14-0 last season, Tulane was still looking for a win to "put them on the map" so to speak. Well, what better way to do that, than going into Tuscaloosa, Alabama and upsetting the 5th ranked Alabama Crimson Tide? Things weren't looking good for Tulane after Alabama quarterback A.J. McCarron hit Kenny Norwood for the third time in the ballgame to put Alabama ahead 38-28 with 6:41 remaining in the fourth quarter. The Green Wave would answer, though, on their next possession as Ryan Griffin hit D.J. Banks for a 12 yard touchdown to make it a 38-35 game. After Tulane forced a three and out on Alabama's next possession, their offense quickly went to work. A 32 yard run by Orleans Darkwa set the Green Wave up with a 1st and Goal from the Alabama 3 yard line. One play later, Darkwa punched the ball in, and Tulane lead 42-38 with 3:07 remaining. Tulane's upset hopes took a major hit on the ensuing kickoff, though, as Kenny Norwood returned the kick 97 yards for the go ahead touchdown. With just 2:43 left in the game, the Green Wave needed a big series out of their offense, and they got just that. After a big 4th down conversion, followed by an Alabama facemask penalty, the Green Wave were facing a 1st and Goal from the Alabama nine yard line. On the very next play backup running back Payten Jason scored on a nine yard run, and Tulane lead 49-45 with 1:02 left in the 4th quarter. Down to one timeout, and needing a touchdown to win, Alabama moved the ball into Tulane territory. However, facing a 2nd and 14 after a Tulane sack, A.J. McCarron made a mistake that would cost the Crimson Tide the ballgame. McCarron slipped while dropping back to throw, and as he was releasing the ball he was hit. Tulane linebacker Trent Mackey saw the pass come out weak and jumped in front of his man to make the game clinching interception. "It feels like after every game for the last year plus I've been here in the same situation. My team wins a high scoring shootout in exciting fashion. I don't even have anything new to say. Just take a quote from last week's game and use it. But man this team sure likes to give an old man high blood pressure!!" Lamar Bryant hits Devin Figaro for a 10 yard TD in the first quarter Ryan Griffin hits Brock Sanders for a 28 yard touchdown D.J. Banks makes a nice grab and runs 63 yards for a touchdown Shane Delery comes up with a huge sack in the fourth quarter Orleans Darkwa runs in for a 3 yard touchdown to put Tulane ahead 42-38 This 9 yard TD run by Payton Jason put the Green Wave ahead 49-45 Trent Mackey intercepts an A.J. McCarron pass to seal the victory for the Tulane Green Wave
