Breaking news in sporting world today. The Big East Conference has added TCU and dropped Louisville. This was more of Louisville wanting out than the Big East forcing them out.

Also with this news is that TCU fired head coach Gary Patterson and hired a new kid by the name of Matthew Clark. Clark will be a first year coach and knows the Big East well. He played 4 years at Pitt and grew up with them as his home town team.

Will that affect how he feels about playing them once a year?

"No. While I enjoyed my time playing with them and watching them for the past 30 years, my allegience is with my new family, the Horned Frogs. I met with some seniors today and they were sad to see Patterson let go but aren't going to let that get in their way."

With this move, the Horned Frogs will have a chance to get an automatic BCS bid and if they play like they have played in the past, this might be the year the Big East gets a team back to the BCS Championship game.

Well, here it is, September and it is time for the football season to begin. This year, TCU will be playing in the Big East and they are the heavy favorites to win the Big East this season with WVU and Pitt coming in at 2 and 3.

While TCU shoudl be favored, they are going to find it a tough season, with playing Alabama, Notre Dame, and Penn State, to name a few of their non-conference games. But what matters the most is getting into the conference games and winning those and first year coach, Clark, is goign to have to find a way to rally his troops.

Clark comes to us after a successful career with the aforementioned Pittsburgh Panthers, where he was a linebacker and helped his team to a few bowl victories, but nothing major. He is ready to come in and show this city and this country that TCU belongs in the National Spotlight.

Given the first week of the season is upon us, we feel that we need to talk about facing Alabama in week 1. This is a great matchup and will be a measuring stick for how well TCU fairs against the nation's best teams. Expect to see Bama run the ball a lot which will open up their passing attack. They will be able to move the ball and score; TCU must respond. With that, it is prediction time.

Week 1 Prediction:
Alabama @ TCU:
TCU is going to have their hands ful. If they can't move the ball, this will be a long day for the Horned Frogs. I am looking at Clark to suffer a tough loss at home to open his career and the fans to be pretty upset. But with all programs, you have your bumps in the road when you play these great teams.
