Coach's Thoughts:
This game was unbelievable. Miami's record isn't great, but they still have talent as they usually do. We weren't ready for this game in the first half, as we turned the ball over much too much. Give credit to Miami, as they capitalized on our interceptions and fumbles. For Logan Thomas throwing 5 INTs is awful. We cannot have that, but he showed his true self in the second half and brought us the win. Clint Harden did a great job of getting open and set the school record with 16 receptions in the game. He kept us in it til the end. We got down 16-0 in the first half before we finally got on the board & then let up a a touchdown pass & a huge 98 yard TD run at the end of the half which was very frustrating. Being down 30-7 at the half, things weren't looking good. I tried to get the boys to focus in the small things, and we played well in the second qtr, but couldn't get any closer as the score was now 37-14. The 4th quarter was one of the most exciting quarters of football i've ever seen! We came out with a great sense of urgency, with good reason. Our defense also stepped it up and finally stopped Miami's offense which had been overpowering us on the ground & through the air all day. After 3 TD passes from Thomas, we made a big stop and got the ball back into FG range with a minute and a 1/2 to go, but Hawkins hit the goal post and it was no good. After forcing another punt we were able to get into FG range again this time centering the ball in the middle of the hashes for Hawkins, who nailed it in from 20 yards out with :56 seconds left. We were able to stop Miami, who had no timeouts remaining, to win the game. This was an excellent comeback and showed the grit and toughness of this team. It keeps our undefeated season alive as well as our national championship aspirations. Next week, we travel to Virginia in a rivalry game that's always hard fought

Coach's Thoughts:
This was a very sloppy game in cold conditions, as we committed 6 turnovers, and Virginia had 7. Fortunately, we won the game, but it gives us plenty to work on. Kris Bobo, who is filling in for injured safety Andrew Bennett, had a terrific game with 2 INTs, one that was returned for a touchdown. Since moving to safety from his LB spot, he's been a bright spot on our defense. We're now 10-0, and with a win vs Carolina next week, we'll be in our 3rd straight ACC title game. Things are exiting for our football team and fans. We're already focusing on next week.

Coach's Thoughts:
Today we showed that we can win in many different ways. UNC is a solid team and they were without their star QB Bryan Renner. Their back-up, Aj Blue, is a 5th year senior and he's a good athlete. Our defense did a good job of containing him. As you can see by looking at the stats, their offense never even got into the red zone, however they did score on a long pass to the end-zone. Their defensive game plan worked for the first 3 qtrs, but we finally figured them out towards the end and Logan Thomas, or "LT" as he's become known around campus, once again brought us the victory. Being ranked #3 in the country, we have a permanent target on our backs & must come ready for a tough game each time out. We've now put ourselves in the ACC championship game for the 3rd year in a row, and we already know we'll be facing Clemson, who always gives us trouble. They are the last team this program lost to, as it happened midway through last season. First, we must turn our focus to Senior day next weekend at home vs Pittsburgh who has an athletic QB and are very hard-nosed.

Media Qs:
"Coach Howie, rumor has it, you're a hot target for a lot of big time programs once the seasons over. Have you considered other options?"

Honestly, I haven't even thought about that. Im focused on this team and winning the ACC, then the National championship. I've got no time to worry about that right now"
"Tony Gregory went out with an injury and is out for 3 weeks. What will you do at running back now?"
Yes, he'll miss the Pitt game and the ACC champ. game. We have two young freshman in J.R Deangelis and Tony Joseph who will have to step up and take over for him. He'll be back, though.

Re: Hokie Ball

I am following my man. Your thread gets lost in all these other dynasty's because you have a short thread title lol. Honestly, it gets lost in all the mess of other dynasties. You need a good thread title, and need to neaten up the re-caps, and I think you will be just fine.

You have the Hokies rockin' my man, and that win over Miami was a close one, wow. What a rally - 24 points in the 4th quarter? damn...that's stout. What is your ranking now? (you left it out of the last few posts?) BTW, I am jealous because you got a snow game against UVA. I have not played in the snow yet in 5 seasons
