This week in C-USA action the Villanova Wildcats headed south to face the SMU Mustangs.

1st Half - The Wildcats jumped out to a 3-0 lead after an opening drive field goal gave them the lead. SMU then responded with a FG of there own, tying the game at 3 a piece, later in the 1st quarter SMU put together a good drive ending in a TD for wide reciever Aldrick Robinson. The second quarter was scoreless, as both teams defenses stepped up to the plate. Going into halftime, the score was Wildcats, 3, Mustangs, 10.

2nd Half - In the 3rd period, all points came off the leg of SMU's sophomore kicker Chase Ford. Going into the 4th quarter, SMU had a 13 point lead. Villanova failed to rally back, scoring to late in the game, after a 10 yard TD run by Aaron Ball, his 3rd of the season, the Wildcats were forced to try the onside kick, SMU recovered the onside, and then milked the clock down to give the Mustangs there first win of the season.

ESPN's Erin Andrews caught up with Villanova reciever Matt Szczur after the game.

EA - "Matt, you guys played a great game but just couldn't pull it together at the end. How do you feel moving forward after this heartbreaking defeat?"

MS - "I think we'll be fine in the long run, we just didn't play as hard as we could. Our focus goes to Troy in next week's game. We're gonna give 'em our best shot and hopefully we'll walk away with a W."

EA - "Well good luck with Troy next week Matt, I'll be there to cheer you guys on."

MS - "Thanks Erin." (under his breath) "I hope she comes to all of our games."

Bi - "Well we went out there today and we just worked our tails off for the W and we managed to come away with it, so yeah, it feels pretty good."

Bi - "Oh my god Erin there's no feeling like it in the world."
